With Sheridan leaving to move onto bigger and better things, The Save The Date Podcast is officially coming to a close.

We have absolutely loved chatting our lives away each week about the hottest things in weddings, and getting to know all of you, even if just a little! It has meant the world to us to hear your stories, gain insight into your wedding and proposal experiences and help get you through such an exciting time.

In today’s episode, Sheridan and Juliette are digging deep into what is possible the wedding of the decade! 

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant come from two of the wealthiest families in India, and in July, they held one of the biggest wedding festivities we’ve probably ever seen!

The celebration started back in March, where they held their huge, 3-day pre-wedding weekend and hastakshar. Rihanna took the stage for a private performance, with a star-studded guest list. 

The celebration continued in May with a 4-day Mediterranean cruise with 1200 of their nearest and dearest, including performances by Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys and Pitbull.

The wedding itself spanned over a couple of weeks, sharing several traditional ceremonies with their family and friends. 

The wedding saw performances by Justin Bieber, guests such as Kim and Khloe Kardashian and John Cena and close to 1 billion flowers. The Ambani wedding truly had it all!

In today’s episode, Sheridan and Juliette sit down and talk ALL about the crazy histories behind some of the most popular wedding traditions. 

We hope you love a history lesson cause that's what this episode is all about!! 

We travel back to Ancient Egypt to learn about the history of wedding rings, how this tradition was adopted by the Ancient Greeks and in turn, the Ancient Romans. We talk about what their rings were made of and how they transformed into what we see today.

We all know that *most* people wear white on their wedding day, but this has not always been the way! We'll talk about the rise of Queen Victoria and how she was basically the first-ever #influencer... lol! 

We also talk about how much arranged marriages have painted the way we do weddings today, including not seeing the couple on the wedding day and wearing a veil! As well as how bouquets were originally not at all done for aesthetics and instead were used to mask the wearers odour... 

This is also your reminder that you do NOT need to do any wedding tradition if you don't want to. Your wedding day is all about you and your partner, so do whatever it is that makes the two of you happiest.
