ConBERTAciones

The Scab

Listen Later

When there is a wound, from a battle or a surgery, the body responds by forming a scab. This protective layer of tissue covers the wound. The same blood that poured from the wound creates a barrier to prevent infection and allows new skin to regenerate underneath.

The scab is not pretty, it’s dark, rough, and sometimes painful. It doesn’t have a clear shape, and it can pull and pinch the skin as it tightens. If you try to remove it too soon, the wound may bleed again. But the scab has a purpose, it was designed by God to protect, and when the time is right, it will fall off, on its own.

Isn’t it remarkable that God, the Creator of our bodies, designed this process long before the wound ever occurred? Even before the pain, He prepared the healing.

If today you are looking at your wound, or if you have a scab, physical, emotional, or spiritual, I invite you to see it as a sign that healing has already begun. The pain will not last forever. The wound will heal and the scab will fall off because a loving God has already set the process in motion for new skin: fresh, whole, and healed!

That is enough reason to smile and Praise!
