Mi amiga Alys comienza hoy un nuevo proyecto, un proyecto lleno de arte, niños y sueños.

Le envié un mensaje sencillo deseándole un buen día. Su respuesta fue perfecta.

Ella dijo: “Aquí vamos a capturar sueños.”

No dijo: “Aquí vamos a trabajar en sueños.”

No dijo: “Aquí vamos a soñar.”

Dijo: “Aquí vamos a capturar sueños.”

Esa palabra se quedó conmigo.

Capturar implica intención. Implica movimiento. Implica ir tras algo con propósito. No es pasivo. No es distante. No es un simple deseo.

Es fe en acción.

Capturar aquellas cosas que hemos soñado.

Capturar lo que ha estado viviendo en silencio dentro de nuestro corazón.

Declarar con convicción que no solo estamos imaginando un futuro, estamos entrando en él.

Porque en esa confesión hay peso.

No solo el peso del sueño en sí, sino también el peso de la creencia.

Y en todo sueño, la fe lo es todo.

Alys ha estado creyendo por años en el legado que desea construir — no solo para su hijo, sino para otros niños que aman el teatro, los títeres, la música y la magia de contar historias.

Debemos creer antes de enfrentar un sueño.

La fe es lo que nos da el valor para extender la mano y capturarlo.

My friend Alys is starting a new project today, a project filled with art, children, and dreams.

I sent her a simple text wishing her a good day. Her reply was impressive, and it made me pause.

She said, “Here we go to CAPTURE dreams.”

Not “Here we go to work on dreams.”

Not “Here we go to dream.”

But “Here we go to capture dreams.”

That word stayed with me.

To capture means intention. It means movement. It means going after something with purpose. It is not passive. It is not distant. It is not wishful thinking.

It is active faith.

To capture those things we have dreamed about.

To capture what has been living quietly in our hearts.

To speak with conviction that we are not just imagining a future, we are stepping into it, and in that confession, there is weight.

Not only the weight of the dream itself, but the weight of belief.

And in every dream, faith is everything.

Alys has been believing for years in the legacy she wants to build, not only for her child, but for other children who love theater, puppets, music, and the magic of storytelling.

We must believe before we face a dream.

Belief is what gives us the courage to reach out and capture it.

Las madres vienen en todo tipo de paquetes.

Algunas expresan su amor con manos llenas de harina y el aroma de algo caliente en el horno.

Otras, con risas en el patio, rompecabezas sobre la mesa y rodillas manchadas del verde del césped.

Otras, con voces firmes, límites claros y una fuerza constante.

A primera vista pueden parecer distintas: tiernas o fuertes, juguetonas o serias.

Pero bajo todo eso hay un mismo instinto sagrado: protección.

Una madre protege.

Por eso a menudo la imaginamos como una mamá osa: feroz cuando es necesario, tierna cuando es posible. Fuerte para soportar la tormenta, suave para sostenernos cuando caemos.

Hay algo casi divino en la maternidad. Las madres parecen saberlo todo, sentirlo todo, protegerlo todo. Luchan batallas que no vemos y cargan preocupaciones que nunca comprendemos por completo.

Con el tiempo, quien nos cargó en brazos se convierte en el silencio sabio de la experiencia. La mujer que soportó berrinches, noches sin dormir y tormentas adolescentes se convierte en la voz firme a la que acudimos cuando la vida se vuelve incierta.

Hoy no es el Día de las Madres, pero la gratitud no necesita un calendario.

Mothers come in all kinds of packages.

Some express love through flour dusted hands and the smell of something warm in the oven.

Some through laughter in the backyard, puzzles on the table, and grass stained knees.

Some through firm voices, clear boundaries, and steady strength.

At first glance, they may seem different, tender or strong, playful or serious.

But beneath it all lies the same sacred instinct: protection.

A mother protects!

That is why we picture her as a mama bear, fierce when needed, gentle when possible. Strong enough to stand in the storm, soft enough to hold us when we fall.

There is something almost divine about motherhood. Mothers seem to know everything, sense everything, guard everything. They fight battles we never see and carry worries we never fully understand.

Over time, the one who once carried us becomes the quiet oracle of wisdom. The woman who endured tantrums, sleepless nights, and teenage storms becomes the steady voice we call when life feels uncertain.

Today is not Mother’s Day but gratitude doesn’t need a date on the calendar.

To mothers of every culture, every temperament, every story, THANK YOU!

And yes, my mother was one of those. 💜

Anoche me quedé dormida alrededor de las once pero desperté poco después de medianoche.

En lugar de descansar, la memoria me encontró.

Mi mente volvió a hace diez años, a una habitación de hospital en una noche muy parecida a esta, donde le cantaba canciones de adoración en español a mi madre.

Recuerdo haber querido que ella supiera, que supiera de verdad, que “los muros caen, y con ellos las cadenas”, que “Su fidelidad es grande, Su fidelidad incomparable es” “Dios ha sido bueno”, que “Dios ha sido bueno”.

Cuando me desperté esta noche, el recuerdo no trajo tristeza.

Trajo visión.

Trajo la serena certeza de que diez años después, todavía estoy aquí.

Todavía alabando.

Todavía creyendo.

Todavía aferrándome a la misma verdad que llenó esa oscura habitación de hospital en 2016.

Mucho ha cambiado en una década. 

El tiempo ha avanzado, como siempre. 

La vida se ha desarrollado de maneras que nunca hubiera podido predecir. 

Sin embargo, lo más importante sigue siendo:

La alabanza permanece.

 La fe permanece.

 ÉL permanece.

Hay algo sagrado en reconocer que la alabanza no fue temporal. 

No nació de un momento fugaz. Se convirtió en parte de tu fundación.

Despertar después de medianoche no fue un accidente; fue un recordatorio.

Un recordatorio de que las canciones que cantamos no desaparecieron en el silencio.

Un recordatorio de que la fidelidad de Dios no terminó cuando mi madre fue al cielo, el lugar más real de todos.

Un recordatorio de que la misma presencia que nos recibió allí todavía me encuentra aquí.

Este no es un recuerdo para llorar.

Es un recuerdo para atesorar 💜

Last night, I fell asleep around eleven, only to wake shortly after midnight.Instead of rest, memory met me.

My mind returned to ten years ago, to a hospital room on a night much like this one, where I sang worship songs in Spanish to my mother.

I remember wanting her to know, truly know, that “the walls of Jericho had fallen”, that “God had been faithful”, that Jesus is sweet and kind, and that “Jesus loves us, this I know”.

When I woke up tonight, the memory did not bring sadness.It brought vision.

It brought the quiet realization that ten years later, I am still here.Still praising.Still believing.Still holding on to the same truth that filled that dark hospital room in 2016.

So much has changed in a decade. 

Time has moved forward, as it always does. 

Life has unfolded in ways I never could have predicted. 

Yet, the most important things remain:

Praise remains. Faith remains. HE remains.

There is something sacred about recognizing that your praise was never temporary. It was not born from a fleeting moment of crisis. It became part of your foundation.

Tonight, waking after midnight was not an accident; it was a reminder.

A reminder that the songs we sang did not disappear into silence. A reminder that God’s faithfulness did not end when my mother went to Heaven — the most real place of all.A reminder that the same presence that met us there still meets me here.

This is not a memory to grieve.

It is a memory to treasure. 💜

Una amiga hablaba sobre invitar a otros.

Cuando invitas a alguien al cine, a tomar un café, a la iglesia o incluso a una nueva oportunidad, tu verdadera responsabilidad, si realmente nace de tu corazón, es simplemente extender la invitación. Por eso se llama invitar.

Tu trabajo no es evaluar la condición de la persona a quien invitas. Tampoco es medir lo que esa persona pueda recibir del lugar al que irán juntos.

Una invitación es una apertura del corazón. La extiendes porque crees que puede haber algo significativo para esa persona al otro lado.

Una invitación es como ofrecer una llave.

No sabes qué hay detrás de esa puerta para ellos.

No sabes si usarán la llave de inmediato, si la guardarán para después, o si simplemente la pondrán en su bolsillo mientras la puerta permanece cerrada.

Pero esa no es tu responsabilidad.

La invitación es simplemente permitir que el deseo en tu corazón fluya hacia el exterior, ofrecer la llave libremente.

Lo que la persona haga con ella no forma parte de tu llamado.

Tu gozo está en extenderla.

Hoy, las bendiciones son como pequeños paquetes llenos de llaves de todo tipo. Si está en tu corazón, comienza a regalarlas.

¡El gozo está en dar!

A friend was talking about inviting people.

When you invite someone to the movies, for a cup of coffee, to church, or even into a new opportunity, your true responsibility, if it genuinely comes from your heart, is simply to extend the invitation. That’s why it’s called an invite.

Your job is not to evaluate the condition of the person you’re inviting. It is not to measure what they might receive from the place you are going together.

An invitation is an opening of the heart. You extend it because you believe there may be something meaningful for them on the other side.

An invitation is like offering a key.

You do not know what waits behind that door for them.

You do not know if they will use the key immediately, save it for later, or simply place it in their pocket while the door remains closed.

But that is not your responsibility.

The invitation is simply allowing the desire in your heart to flow outward, to offer the key freely.

What they do with it is not part of your calling.

Your joy comes from extending it.

Today, blessings are like small packets filled with keys of all kinds. If it is in your heart, start giving them away.

The joy is in the giving!

Es el cumpleaños de mi amiga Nicole y admiro que siempre haya abrazado la belleza de celebrar cada logro, cada punto de inflexión, cada paso adelante. Creo que las celebraciones son sagradas porque nos ayudan a reconocer las huellas de Dios en nuestro camino. Nos susurran al corazón: “Mira, Dios ha estado aquí”. Marcan nuestros comienzos y nuestros finales, nuestro crecimiento silencioso y nuestras victorias inesperadas.

Pero, ¿qué sucede en esos días en que no estamos listos para celebrar? ¿Cuando tenemos el corazón cansado, las manos ocupadas o la tristeza nos acecha demasiado? Quizás es entonces cuando más necesitamos una cultura de celebración, no una basada en el ruido o la perfección, sino en la presencia y la fidelidad de Dios.

¿Por qué nos resulta tan fácil celebrar a los demás, pero dudamos en honrar la gracia que se despliega en nuestras propias vidas?

Estas preguntas han estado en mi corazón hoy.

Las Escrituras nos recuerdan una verdad simple y poderosa: «Este es el día que hizo el Señor; nos gozaremos y alegraremos en él». (Salmo 118:24). No porque cada día sea fácil, sino porque cada día es creado por un Dios que nunca nos abandona.

Así que hoy, además de desearle a Nicole un sincero "Feliz Cumpleaños", quiero invitarte a un ritmo más profundo: un ritmo de celebración. Celebra el aliento en tus pulmones, la temporada que comienza, las familias y amistades que te sostienen, las misericordias silenciosas que casi pasaste por alto. Celebra que Dios te despertó con propósito, con gracia, con otra oportunidad para amar, bendecir y brillar.

Hoy, adéntrate en la celebración y deja que tu gratitud se convierta en una suave adoración, un silencioso amén, un recordatorio de que tu vida también es un hermoso testimonio en progreso.

It is my friend Nicole’s birthday, and I admired that she has always embraced the beauty of celebrating every milestone, every turning point, every step forward. I believe celebrations are sacred, because they help us recognize the fingerprints of God on our journey. They whisper to our hearts, “Look, God has been here.” They mark our beginnings and our endings, our quiet growth and our unexpected victories.

But what happens on the days when we are not ready to celebrate? When our hearts are tired, our hands are full, or sorrow sits a little too close? Perhaps this is when we most need a culture of celebration, not one rooted in noise or perfection, but rooted in the presence and faithfulness of God.

Why do we find it so easy to celebrate others, yet hesitate to honor the grace unfolding within our own lives?

These questions have been in my heart today.

Scripture calls us back to a simple, powerful truth: “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24). Not because every day is easy, but because every day is crafted by a God who never leaves us.

So beyond wishing Nicole a heartfelt “Happy Cumpleaños” I want to invite you into a deeper rhythm: a rhythm of celebration. Celebrate the breath in your lungs, the season that is dawning, the families and friendships that carry you, the quiet mercies you almost overlooked. Celebrate that God woke you up with purpose, with grace, with another chance to love, to bless, to shine.

Today, step into celebration and let your gratitude become a soft worship, a quiet amen,

a reminder that your life, too, is a beautiful testimony in progress.
