The Scanner

Rachel Glickhouse is a journalist and partner manager for ProPublica’s “Documenting Hate” project, an unprecedented collaboration of more than 170 newsrooms and media outlets that are working together to report on hate crimes and violence in our country. Rachel has also taught engagement journalism at the New School and previously worked at Univison, Medium, and the Americas Society/Council of the Americas.

If you have a story to share about your experience with hate crime, or if you work in a newsroom that would like to be involved with Rachel’s project, please visit DocumentingHate.org. If you would like to join the work of the Mayor’s Council Against Hate, please visit cha.city/againsthate and let us know.

Thanks to Will Davis and the staff at WUTC for their assistance and support.

Allison Padilla-Goodman is the Southern Regional Director for the Anti-Defamation League. She was kind enough to join the Mayor's Council Against Hate at our most recent public meeting in July, where she spoke about the state of hate across the south -- including some truly stunning statistics about the rise in white supremacist activity across Tennessee.

The Scanner is a production of the Mayor's Council Against Hate and the American Diversity Report. If you would like to join the work of the Mayor's Council Against Hate, please visit cha.city/againsthate and let us know.

Thanks to Will Davis the staff at WUTC-FM for their production assistance.
