Episode 2 | Newtown CT Sandy Hook Elementary School Shootings: We Are Not Monsters, But Victims Too
==================================================
My heart goes not out only to the victims involved, but the shooter who I believe was also both a perpetrator and victim himself.
Don't judge the mentally ill like us. We are human too, misunderstood, maybe, and may be people that make bad choices and impulsive decisions, but we are isolated and in pain. Just imagine the pain of losing your sons and/or daughters, and now imagine living with that everyday inside your mind with nowhere to run and nowhere to go. The prison is your mind, and you cannot escape. Try to understand and live in our shoes. It's a sad and lonely reality, but that's life. Pain, misery, and suffering. All I can say what not mentally sick person would do such the extreme? Exactly don't judge them because they are just that, medically sick in the mind, their hurting and suffering. It's hard to hate a person in pain. At least for me. I don't understand why people can't understand both sides to the story. When you see and feel and experience absolute pain, darkness, and despair it makes it hard not empathize. The problem with a mental illness is that people are social creatures. It's a crux. That you can't be around people, but you also need to be around them at the same time. And then it drives you mad and causes you to isolate. A normal person who can easily socialize with people and relate to others and are emotional controlled are lucky, please do not take your mind for granted.
Also I believe there should be stricter gun control laws. I know me, and people like me who have extreme difficulties with impulse control, but at least adding laws would help restrict people like me to abuse it. It is human nature for people to easily lose control and do reckless things when under severe stress or given a lot of power such as wielding a gun. I believe people do not have as much self-control as they think. In reality I think, Guns make things worse, unless you need to hunt for food. And what day in age of this modern society do people need automatic guns for? Not for survival benefits, but just to kill other people. Guns are a joke. And our just some pompous egotistic way to say to others watch out I am the big bad powerful wolf. Use your fists of fury instead, people. History shows and repeats itself, there is no apparent reason people need them, and even if you are living in a violent upbringing or society I still believe guns only would make things worse. The news and media probably propagandizes violence. And I would think third world nations are still better off without guns. Personally, I know I am pretty impulsive, and I know for a fact if I had a gun I would probably make things worse for the wrong reasons. I cannot speak for everybody here, but history repeats itself, violence only feeds and begets violence. Humans are indeed violent creatures. If a person had to protect himself against another person with power over a gun. Then this nation is truly fucked up. Are we really in that horrible state of society to fear for our lives? I would hope only that we are better than that. But we honestly and cynically we are not.
