Id: Di tengah keramaian Jakarta, di sebuah mal yang selalu ramai, Adi menemukan dirinya berdiri di antara deretan alat tulis yang teratur.
En: In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, in a mall that is always crowded, Adi found himself standing among the orderly rows of stationery.
Id: Semangat tahun ajaran baru terasa di udara.
En: The spirit of the new school year was in the air.
Id: Meski matahari musim panas di luar terasa panas, di dalam, hiruk-pikuk siswa-siswa lain mengalihkan perhatian Adi.
En: Although the summer sun outside felt hot, inside, the hustle and bustle of other students diverted Adi's attention.

Id: Daftar belanja di tangannya mengingatkan betapa pentingnya persiapan untuk semester ini.

En: Adi continued his journey, his eyes fixed on a set of his dream notebooks.
Id: Namun, ketika ia tiba, ada seorang siswa lain yang juga mengincarnya.
En: However, when he arrived, there was another student also eyeing it.
Id: "Kita lihat siapa yang cepat," pikir Adi seraya mempersiapkan diri untuk menghadapinya.
En: "Let's see who is faster," Adi thought, readying himself to face it.
Id: "Maaf, ini yang terakhir," ujar siswa tersebut sambil memegang buku catatan itu.
En: "Sorry, this is the last one," said the student while holding the notebook.
Id: Adi berpikir sejenak.
En: Adi thought for a moment.
Id: Ia tahu dirinya tidak bisa egois.
En: He knew he couldn't be selfish.
Id: "Hey, bagaimana kalau kita bagi saja?
En: "Hey, how about we share it?
Id: Kita bisa beli setengah-setengah, dan kita bagi buku-bukunya.
En: We can buy half and half, and split the notebooks."

Id: "Beneran?
En: "Really?"
