The Pill has played a huge role in women’s reproductive freedom, giving women more control over if and when they have children. But as millions of women take hormonal contraception every day, how much do we actually know about what it’s doing inside our bodies?
In ep 1 of this series, we take a closer look at the Pill - how it works, why so many women take it, and what happens to our hormones when we use synthetic hormones to prevent ovulation. We explore the connection between hormonal contraception, mood, mental health, libido, energy and the way we feel in our bodies, as well as the side effects and risks that are often less openly discussed.
We also unpack why the Pill is prescribed for much more than contraception, from acne and painful periods to PCOS and irregular cycles, and ask where symptom management ends and investigating the underlying cause begins.
This isn't necessarily an argument for or against the Pill. It's more a conversation about understanding your options, knowing the potential benefits and trade-offs, and being able to make informed decisions about your body and your reproductive health.
In this episode, Britt sits down with Rachel to explore conscious parenting, the way we see children, and what they can reveal about our own inner world. They discuss moving beyond viewing children as behaviours to manage and instead recognising them as whole humans with their own needs, emotions and experiences.
Rachel shares her journey from early childhood education into holistic healing and supporting women to reconnect with their inner knowing. They explore triggers, authority, control, respect and what conscious parenting can look like in the everyday reality of motherhood. They unpack how children can bring our own unresolved experiences, beliefs and protective patterns to the surface, and what changes when we become curious about what is happening within us rather than focusing solely on changing our children.
Britt + Rach also dive into spirituality, the ways it can become disconnected from being human, and the difference between being a spiritual person and making spirituality an identity. Drawing on her professional background and personal experiences with mental health, motherhood, trauma and healing, Rach shares why she believes healing should be practical, accessible and empowering.
This is a conversation about parenting, personal responsibility, self-awareness and reclaiming our own inner knowing-while creating more space for both mothers and children to genuinely enjoy life.

Why do some people feel like home from the moment we meet them, while others leave us feeling safe but strangely... bored? And why do so many of us find ourselves repeating the same relationship patterns, despite promising ourselves we'd never end up there again?
In this episode, Krissy explores how our earliest childhood experiences shape the way we give and receive love. Through the lens of attachment theory, neuroscience and psychology, they unpack why our nervous system often mistakes familiarity for compatibility, and how healing those patterns can transform the way we experience relationships.
In this episode, we explore:
💛 How your first relationships with caregivers become the blueprint for every relationship that follows
💛 The four attachment styles and how they influence the way you communicate, connect, trust and respond to conflict in adult relationships
💛 Why your brain is wired to seek familiarity over happiness, and how childhood experiences quietly shape who you're attracted to
💛 The neuroscience behind chemistry, trauma bonds and emotional intensity, including the roles of dopamine, cortisol, adrenaline and intermittent reinforcement
💛 Why emotionally unavailable, critical or inconsistent partners can feel strangely familiar, even when they continue to hurt us
💛 How somatic healing, nervous system regulation, healthy boundaries and secure relationships can help rewire old attachment patterns and create lasting change
Whether you've found yourself repeatedly attracted to the wrong people, struggle with anxious or avoidant attachment, or simply want to understand why relationships can feel so confusing, this episode will help you make sense of your patterns with compassion instead of self blame.
👉 Tune in to discover why healing isn't about finding someone to complete you. It's about teaching your nervous system that love doesn't have to be earned, chased or survived. Healthy love can feel safe, steady and deeply fulfilling.

Have you ever stopped and wondered... what if the work is actually working, and you're just measuring the wrong things?
So many of us spend years trying to heal, waiting for the day we finally feel calm, confident, and "fixed". But what if healing doesn't look the way we've been led to believe?
In this episode, we explore:
Why awareness often feels worse before it feels better.
The hidden ways your nervous system might already have changed.
Why growth is rarely linear.
The trap of always chasing the next version of yourself.
Whether personal development can quietly become another source of anxiety.
And perhaps the biggest question of all... when is it time to stop obsessing over healing and simply start living?
If you've ever found yourself thinking, "Why doesn't this feel like it's working?" this conversation might completely change how you measure progress.

Join us for a deeply honest conversation with Roxy Alcorn as we explore what happens when you leave behind the belief system that shaped your entire life and have to discover who you are without it.
After spending the first 31 years of her life within the fundamentalist Christian group known as the Two-by-Twos, Roxy began a five-year process of questioning, unraveling and eventually leaving the religion in 2017.
In this episode, Roxanne shares:
💛 What it was like growing up within the Two-by-Twos, including strict rules around clothing, media, questioning authority and what it meant to be a "good" person
💛 The gradual five-year journey that led her to leave, from asking questions that weren't being answered to witnessing hypocrisy that made her question the system itself
💛 What happens when you leave a belief system that has shaped your identity, morality, relationships and understanding of the world for your entire life
💛 The "spiritual emergency" that followed, and how losing the structure she had always relied on ultimately forced her to begin trusting herself and her own intuition
💛 Religious trauma and the process of deprogramming deeply ingrained beliefs around obedience, shame and unworthiness
💛 How yoga, travel and exposure to different philosophies helped Roxanne rebuild her identity and move from Christianity, through atheism and agnosticism, towards a spirituality that finally felt like her own
💛 Discovering her queer identity after leaving an environment where it had never felt possible to explore or even understand that part of herself
💛 How being in a relationship with a woman has challenged traditional relationship structures and unexpectedly become part of her healing and self-acceptance
💛 The difference between religion and spirituality, and why Roxanne now believes we should be cautious of any system that asks us to hand our power, intuition or sense of self over to someone else
💛 Why authenticity has become one of her deepest values, and how she has learned that genuine belonging comes from being fully yourself rather than changing yourself to remain accepted
Whether you've experienced religious trauma yourself, questioned beliefs you were raised with, struggled to know who you are outside of other people's expectations, or are simply curious about what it takes to rebuild an identity from the ground up, this is a powerful conversation about questioning, courage, belonging and becoming.
It's also a reminder that leaving one identity behind doesn't mean immediately knowing who you are. Sometimes freedom is the uncomfortable process of finally getting to find out.
👉 Tune in for an honest conversation about religious trauma, identity, sexuality, spirituality and finding the courage to live authentically.

Join us for an honest and thought-provoking conversation with Brooke Schiebel as we explore homeschooling, child-led learning and whether the traditional school system is really the best environment for every child.
Brooke brings a rare perspective to this conversation. A registered teacher and former Vice Principal and curriculum lead, she spent almost 20 years working in early childhood education before eventually leaving the system and making the decision to pull her own teenage son out of mainstream school.
In this episode, Brooke shares:
💛 Her journey from teacher and school leader to leaving the education system and choosing to homeschool her own son
💛 What she witnessed from inside mainstream education that ultimately changed the way she thought about school, learning and childhood
💛 Who traditional schooling may work well for, who can struggle within it, and how parents can recognise when the environment might not be right for their child
💛 What homeschooling actually looks like day to day, and why it doesn't have to mean recreating a classroom around the kitchen table
💛 The difference between homeschooling and unschooling, and how child-led learning, play, nature, slow pedagogy and real-life experiences can become part of a child's education
💛 The impact leaving mainstream school had on her son's wellbeing and their relationship, including removing the daily pressure and conflict surrounding school
💛 The biggest fears parents have around homeschooling, from "I'm not a teacher" and academics to socialisation, routines and whether their child will fall behind
💛 How parents can set themselves up for success, find support and resources, and create an approach that works for their individual child and family
💛 What Brooke would do differently if she could raise her three boys again, and why she believes knowing your child matters far more than knowing how to teach
Whether you're already considering homeschooling, questioning whether mainstream education is working for your child, or simply curious about a completely different way of thinking about childhood and learning, this conversation offers plenty to think about.
This isn't about saying school is bad and homeschooling is good. It's about asking a much bigger question: What do children actually need to thrive, and are we willing to question the default when it isn't working for them?
👉 Tune in for an honest conversation about homeschooling, education, children's wellbeing, family and what learning can look like when we stop assuming there is only one right way.

What happens when the things you once thought you wanted no longer feel like the things you want?
In this solo episode, I riff on David Brooks' The Second Mountain and the idea that life can move through different seasons of identity, ambition, achievement and eventually a deeper search for meaning. We talk about what happens when the values that once drove you begin to shift-and how confusing it can be when the life you're building no longer feels like the life you want.
I explore the living according to what you think you should value and actually discovering what matters to you now.
This is a conversation about questioning the definition of success you've inherited, noticing when your priorities are changing, and allowing yourself to become someone new without needing to completely reject who you were before.
Because sometimes the next chapter isn't about climbing a bigger mountain or hitting the next big goal, It's about realising you've been climbing the wrong one-or maybe that those goals were never actually important to you deep down.

We're living in a world of infinite stimulation, yet so many of us feel exhausted, distracted, emotionally flat, and unable to slow down. In this episode, we explore what's really happening beneath our constant need to scroll, consume, stay busy, and avoid silence.
Together, we unpack the science of dopamine beyond the "happy hormone" myth, how modern technology is rewiring our brains, and why simple things that once brought us joy can begin to feel underwhelming. We also dive into the deeper connection between overstimulation, the nervous system, trauma, and emotional regulation, exploring why, for many people, constant stimulation has become a way of feeling safe rather than simply being entertained.
From productivity addiction and validation seeking to phone-free mornings, boredom, and learning to tolerate stillness again, this conversation offers a compassionate and evidence-informed look at how we can reclaim our attention, reconnect with ourselves, and build a life that doesn't rely on constant stimulation to feel okay.

We are officially halfway through the year - so it is the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and reset. In this episode, Krissy and Britt revisiting the goals we set back in January, exploring what we've achieved, what didn't go to plan, and why reviewing your goals is far more valuable than simply setting new ones.
We unpack why motivation isn't enough to create lasting change, how your brain is wired to choose familiarity over possibility, and why self-sabotage is often a protective response rather than a lack of discipline. Through the lens of neuroscience, manifestation, and nervous system regulation, we explore why the missing piece isn't usually clarity-it's capacity.
Finally, we share the framework we're using to set intentional goals for the second half of the year, focusing on aligned priorities, identity, sustainable habits, and building a nervous system that can safely hold the future you're working towards. If you're ready for a reset that's grounded in psychology rather than pressure, this episode is for you.
