  • If you don't like the pay, get a different job - Episode 447 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

It was the summer of the strike. Workers in a variety of industries either walked off the job or threatened strike action in recent months. Jeremy Bradley talks about workers agreeing to certain pay and benefit arrangements when taking the job but then coming forward down the road and complaining they were insufficient -- or at least haven't kept up with the times. JB wonders if this new strike trend will continue or if people will eventually find new work if they're unhappy with their current arrangement. He discusses the "pandemic cojones" people had when they reassessed their job situation and, in some cases, made drastic changes to their career. Although, it seems to be a rite of passage to complain about your job with co-workers so maybe people should just shut up and deal with what they've agreed to.

  • Listen up, inconsiderate dog owners! - Episode 446 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Responsible pet parent, Jeremy Bradley, has some words for people who have no control over (or just don't care to control) their dogs in public. JB shares some stories from around his community when dogs have come running at him while he's walking his dogs and how some owners feel their dog -- on those 60-ft. retractable leashes -- have control of public sidewalks. JB throws down and gives them a pet parent smackdown. Later, a dog showed up at JB's front door -- literally, ran up the front stairs and sat at the door -- which caused all sorts of chaos on a Sunday morning.

  • Is the weather getting a little scary for you? - Episode 445 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Fires to the north, fires to the east, fires to the south, fires to the west. That's the reality in North America and Jeremy Bradley isn't going on a rant about global warming or climate change, but rather how weather patterns seem to be flipping in his home province of Manitoba. Instead of a sweltering summer, it's been mild -- almost cold -- in August. Meanwhile, other Canadian locations are scorching, and American cities are under extreme weather alerts for heat. Is the constant wild weather making you wonder what's down the road in the coming months and years? JB shares his thoughts. Later, is it really "the thought that counts" when it comes to gift giving? Or do you secretly check to see how much someone might've spend on your gift? JB talks about a co-worker who's researching gift prices in her new relationship.

  • Is back-to-school really the most wonderful time of year? - Episode 444 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Class is back in session -- or it will be -- for students around the world. Jeremy Bradley takes a walk down memory lane and shares stories about preparing for a new school year. It had all the excitement: picking out pencil crayons, color-coding notebooks, organizing a backpack. All stuff that today's kids, well, probably don't do... or at the very least consider lame-o. Later, JB shares his memories about what he liked and didn't like about certain classes. The endless Shakespeare lessons in English class. Why? What was the point? Has it ever come in handy over 20 years later? (Maybe that's debatable, but for the most part, no.) Whether you like/liked school or hate/hated school, you'll have an opinion on the conversation this week.

  • Hollywood exposed: Are A-listers really millionaires or just terrible with money? - Episode 443 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Plus, BB host, Julie Chen, was slated to be on this week's episode of the podcast but CBS pulled the plug as the latest Big Brother scandal dominated news headlines. Jeremy Bradley is unpacking all of it on the podcast this week. Have a listen and see if you agree with all of his observations and insights.

  • Retired and turning 41 years old... and lovin' it! - Episode 441 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Jeremy Bradley is days away from turning 41 years old. (Save all your over-the-hill jokes because they don't work.) JB talks about how he's never been ashamed of getting older and wonders why people have hangups about revealing their age as they get older. It's not even for professional reasons it's that people just hide their age from others. JB talks about how he looked back at photos from exactly 20 years ago and still has the same energy level and silliness as he did when he was 21. By comparison, his brother, who's married with three kids, looks hella different and not nearly as happy as he did back then. Hmm... why could that be? JB celebrates his 41st birthday on the show this week.

  • There's racism in Tennessee's country music? - Episode 440 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Jason Aldean has been dominating the headlines this week after his new music video has sparked outrage. He says people are getting wrong the message about small-town living in his song and video for Try That in a Small Town. Jeremy Bradley recaps the drama for the country star who, despite the controversy, is topping the charts with the track and trending on social media. (Any publicity is good publicity, right? Apparently so.) Later, JB talks about being suspended from Instagram -- an app he hadn't used in over two weeks -- for what Meta flagged as "spam." It wasn't just him, it's been happening to others.

  • A gay opinion on the trans debate - Episode 439 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

Jeremy Bradley shares his thoughts as a gay man about the never-ending drama surrounding the trans community. JB explains that each letter in the growing LGBTQIA alphabet represents something different and shouldn't be considered one big "community" of "everything not straight." It comes after JB wrote newspaper columns during Pride because some readers expressed their dislike of the trans community. JB stepped up to say he's a gay man and not trans, highlighting the distinct differences. But, JB takes issue with having to do that in the first place.

  • You can't have an opinion because you're a... - Episode 438 - The Scribble with Jeremy Bradley

In today's world it seems like you're only allowed to have an opinion if you're "one of them." Jeremy Bradley talks about how, as a white man, he's already discredited if he comments about a woman on social media. Immediately, he says, he's jumped on as sexist and the term "toxic masculinity" is used even though the general comment had nothing to do with gender. By default, he's written off because he's a "privileged" white guy. JB shares thoughts about conclusion jumping and how it likely doesn't help when society is already so divided. Later, every office has politics and, more annoyingly, buzzwords. JB talks about the words he can't stand in "corporate speak."
