After putting together an in-season tournament somewhat like the NBA has done, the NHL has reached a new height in the sports world. The four nations of Finland, Sweden, Canada, and the U.S all in a round-robin format, competed in three game series in which the two best teams went on to compete for the Four Nations Cup. Drawing more attention than expected as the tournament coursed on and following last nights championship match with Canada taking down the U.S., chatter has begun in regards to other leagues like the NBA and NFL not living up to their full and or past potential. Still in the midst of putting a few things together just before the start of the first spring game this weekend, the Astros continue to add pieces to their roster hoping to give them another shot at contending for the postseason. Aiming to add more depth to the roster, the Astros shop and grab Colorado Rockies veteran infielder and Gold-Glove winner Brendan Rodgers. Signing him to a minor deal and taking into account his known position being second base, adding him to the roster has added a bit suspicion in regards to what may tend to happen regarding Jose Altuve. Following the official departure of Alex Bregman last week to Boston, the Astros can now focus on the roster at hand and tightening up a few things before the season rolls in. Now with games set to start sooner rather than later, the Astros are now able to take the time in piecing together game plans and potential lineup orders that may compliment the teams new young core. After a long offseason wondering and anticipating where he may land for the 2025 season, it is now official that the Astros longtime veteran third baseman Alex Bregman has left the city of Houston and finds a new home now in Boston with the Red Sox. Weighing in on his time here in Houston and keeping things brief at his first media appearance, Bregman has officially ushered into a new tenure in his career. Evaluating the contract Bregman signed in detail and taking into account the Astros business model for the team, the guys in agreeance believe the Astros did a good thing letting Bregman walk. Taking into account other players that have left the organization like Carlos Correa and Gerrit Cole and how their careers have panned out after departing and seeking higher pay, the Astros sticking by their business model seems to have worked in their favor in the years prior even to now.
