With the Sweet Sixteen phase now underway following yesterday's tip-offs, the tournament rolls on with our very own Houston Cougars still alive and set to tipoff tonight against the Purdue Boilermakers with a chance at moving on to the Elite 8. Noting the production amongst the players the team has had over the years and sustaining great runs around this time of the year, while the players get mostly the praise; the model Coach Kelvin Sampson has set seems to have not gone too unnoticed as well. Following 7 consecutive tournament appearances along with 6 Sweet Sixteen appearances in the last few years, Coach Sampson looks to have made Houston a top destination of spots for recruits and prospects looking to succeed. Seeing firsthand the success the city has had under Coach Sampson's tenure followed with players actively wanting to attend the University of Houston, Sean and Dan pose can it be said that Coach Kelvin Sampson has turned the culture around here in the city of Houston regarding NCAA D1 basketball?

Now with Spring Training officially behind us, Opening Day has now arrived! Set with games to kickoff this afternoon, the Astros gear up to showcase their new prospects as they finalized their 40-man roster just the other day. Following the finalization of the roster and locking players into their designated positions as we officially roll into the start of the 2025 MLB season, MLB Network journalist Robert Flores joins the show ahead of the debut of Opening Day. Giving a few of his takes and predictions on who may win what division along with Cy Young winners & MVP contenders, Robert unloads the bucket with some shocking names and teams that many may not expect to hear. Breaking yesterday, none other than his very own mother showering the news to him; 22 year old Cam Smith will indeed debut in the Astros Opening Day roster as their right-fielder come tomorrow afternoon. Now with the roster finalized following the additions of Cam Smith, Zach Dezenzo, and Brendan Rodgers Sean and Dan pose the question to listeners, behind the ramp-up for the young prospects like Smith and Dezenzo, has this new young core revitalized the Astros organization as a whole as we approach the start of the season tomorrow?

Following the conclusion of Spring Training, the Astros are now just two days away from Opening Day of the 2025 MLB season. Kicking off their first series of the season Thursday afternoon, the Astros matchup against Juan Soto and the New York Mets for a three game series right here in Houston down at Daikin Park.
