The SeanGeek Podcast

Friday night saw our return to open mic night at The Merch

in Selkirk, MB. It’s a great place for live new music and our second time

there. If you have some rust you want to shake off, or want to try out

something new, it’s a great place to play. I cover the show, the crowd and the

venue and I also premiere our latest track Premature Evacuation.

10 Years ago, Seanorama published the last issue of Symka

online. Symka ran for exactly 3 years at www.guildcompanion.com,

as a monthly comics script, based upon the tabletop supers game he ran.

Seanorama remembers the creation of the story, his collaborators, his editor,

the Guild, pitches, artists and all of that. Part 1 covers the process of

getting this monster running and the original hurdles getting it going.

Seanorama is in deep thought with the news about Gord Downie

from the Tragically Hip, the singer for the most successful band in history. The

Hip have had a profound impact on every single Canadian and have been woven

into the thoughts and memories of all of us. Seanorama is no exception. He

shares his thoughts and a couple of stories.

Seanorma comments without any prep on news articles presented to him by fellow geek Corey Toews. In this age of misinformation, Seanorama follows suit by NOT reading the Articles and reacting to them. An exercise in futility, perhaps? Hey, if it works for most news media sources, then Seanorama can do it too! Here are the articles in question he gives his non-researched reactions to: A) Eminem versus Nick Cannon (http://uproxx.com/music/nick-cannon-eminem-rap-battle/); B) Backing tracks in metal (https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/are_metal_bands_lying_to_fans_by_using_backing_tracks.html?no_takeover); C) Sons of Anarchy con incident (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/05/30/police-called-on-cast-of-sons-of-anarchy-after-demanding-space-city-comic-con-pay-them/); D) Searching for Sugar Man (http://centennialconcerthall.com/2016/06/rodriguez/)
