Seanorama reviews Netflix’s Daredevil starring Charlie Cox. He relates the show to the run by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, it’s 3 season run, the execution of the story arcs, character development and the genius of Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. Sometimes this show is better than the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Seanorama and FastFretFingers talk moon cycles, incorrect accents, then swing into FastFretFingers favorite album of all time. Despite his long-standing love for Van Halen, Rush’s Exit Stage Left gets the win. He explains why the album is so great and other great live concert videos. The boys squeeze in some New Brunswick memories of being a young musician living in the middle of nowhere.

In the second half, the boys talk massages and the car accident on Brady. SeanGeek has T-Shirts. They are sold out of them but they are taking orders. Reach out to us at seanmcginity.ca.  They talk Keycon 2020 changes and FastFretFingers predicts 2020 will be the big year for a general upswing.

Then they dive into a retrospective on the runner up band Van Halen. He talks about the unique sound and tone that has never been replicated, the brown sound (later replaced when Eddie changed guitars). They talk about the style of the songs between Van Halen, Van Hagar and Van Cherone and why that sound changed. They talk about the fame, the money, the albums, live footage, sounds and writing styles.

Seanorama and FastFretFingers are fresh from the 2nd annual Manitoba Podcast Festival. Their mission this year was to meet as many podcasters as possible and spreading the word of their own show. In this episode, we not only cover the Festival itself and it’s two panels, but we committed to listening to a bunch of new local Podcasts (to us anyway). We review each one of these new ones. (Don’t worry, we will have another follow up episode on the old dogs we’ve been listening to for a while now).

If you haven’t been covered in this episode, we will listen to you! Message us and we will cover these on further episodes.

We cover microphones, the room, recording software, video recording and lots of other technical aspects, Podbean versus Google Podcasts, Whose Line Is It Anyway,

Seanorama, FastFretFingers, and CoreyGeek welcomes Ryan Sorensen to the podcast and opens the show talking about the Disraeli Dreamers, the Royal Albert, and Night Moves.

They get heavy on the local music scene, the health of it and the health of music venues. They talk about the changes in the laws and how that has changed the makeup of how venues make ends meet. What is the future of the scene and the proliferation of original bands playing tribute shows. What is a Tribute show and what does this mean to the scene?

Breaking news: the future of the Disraeli Dreamers and what is next. What are the economics? They break down attendance of these venues and the state of the music industry. What about bands playing covers in their sets? Do Tribute shows have any original material? They discuss pay scales between cover bands, tribute shows and all original shows. Should a cover band replicate what they are covering to a T or take it another direction? And who was that Ozzy Osborne cover band Sean and Todd saw?
