  • You Were Made for More Than This World

    About The Search for God

I grew up as the son of a deacon in a small Missionary Baptist church. After being deeply wounded by the church, I walked away and spent years exploring other beliefs.

Four years ago, I began finding my way back to God.

The Search for God is about that journey — faith, doubt, the Bible, and what it means to follow God in the real world.

Learn more about the show here.

    This week’s episode

This week, I’m talking about why the things of this world never quite satisfy us — and why I believe we were made for something more. We’ll also talk about living differently as a Christian, taking the narrow path, and why prayer matters no matter what life looks like.

Listen above, or search for The Search for God with Stan R. Mitchell wherever you listen to podcasts.

I hope this episode meets you where you are — and maybe moves you one step closer to God.

    New to the show?

Here are a few episodes you might enjoy:

    * For the vets out there... Dealing with paranoia, PTSD, and the emotional scars you earned from serving.

    * How it all started: my painful origin story.

    * I stand on the shoulders of a giant — my eulogy to my Dad.

If you’re curious about the Bible but don’t know where to begin, I’ve also put together a simple Bible resource page to help you get started.

    Stay connected

I genuinely enjoy hearing from listeners — questions, feedback, disagreements and encouragement are all welcome.

    Email: [email protected]

The best way to support the show is simply to subscribe, listen, and leave a rating or review. If you’d like to support the work financially, paid subscriptions are $5 a month through Substack, or you can support the show on Patreon.

The Search for God is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

I also host The Stan R. Mitchell Show, my weekly podcast about politics, military affairs and world events — without the outrage.

Thanks for listening. Stay safe, and I’ll talk to you next time.

    To God be the glory,

    Stan R. Mitchell

P.S. You can also check out my books — I’ve written twelve of them — all available on Amazon.

  • A Mission MINDSET

About me: I’m the son of a Deacon of a small Missionary Baptist Church, who was wounded badly by the church and left it to study other religions.
