In this episode, I talked to Gabby Grossi. I ask Gabby how she made the decision to abruptly leave college to work in South Carolina, St. Thomas, Maui, and then Alaska. She explains why she’s so happy with that decision and how her parents came around to feeling the same way. We also discuss how she can be an anxious planner but only plan a few months in advance, valuable lessons she’s learned from the seasonal lifestyle, and we reminisce about the unique experiences we both had living on St. Thomas.

In this episode, I talk with Marcus Kastner, an outdoor educator at CELP, Catalina Environmental Leadership Program. An outdoor education facility on Catalina Island, near Los Angeles. Marcus had just completed his Master’s degree and we talked about what that meant for his seasonal lifestyle, the jobs he had done before CELP, and what he loves most about living and working on a beautiful island.

Tim Kistner is from just outside Philadelphia and his list of past jobs stretches for miles. In this episode, we talk about his time on an alpaca farm in Europe, his recent trip to China and Bali, his extended seasonal stay in Australia, and his recurring presence in Ketchikan, Alaska. Between Tim's stories, voice, and great perspective, I just let the tape run as we discussed his experiences in the seasonal lifestyle.

Claire Winzenburg is from Minnesota, but in the summers, her job is to take tourists to the Misty Fjords of Ketchikan, Alaska. Her relationship with the town has had ups and downs, but the community, her friends, and the seasonal lifestyle has always been her passion. She also covers her educational time living in India, her bead working business, and how time gets weird as a seasonal.
