Years later, as a teenager, Jonah decides to scuba dive in the lake to find the mermaid again. He is almost killed by three octopi but the mermaid saves him again. The mermaid reveals that her name is Princess Ariel and tells Jonah that he must keep her existence a secret forever. Jonah wants to spend more time with Ariel, but she tells him that he can only do so in a secret way.
