The Secret Place

Throughout season three of The Secret Place, Derek is looking deeply at Ephesians 1 and helping us apply Paul's words to our own lives.

In this episode of The Secret Place, Derek unpacks Ephesians 1:7-12. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding..."

The Father and the Son, together, accomplished something far greater than the pain Jesus experienced on the cross. Jesus did it as us, for us to prove the depth of His love towards us.

Throughout season three of The Secret Place, Derek is looking deeply at Ephesians 1 and helping us apply Paul's words to our own lives.

In this episode of The Secret Place, Derek unpacks Ephesians 1:3-6: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves."

Your adoption as a son or daughter of God was not a chore for God. It was according to the good pleasure of His will. You cannot be separated from God.

This is the fourth episode in a six part series titled "Jesus - Saviour and Example." Go back to "Foundations" to listen to this series from the beginning.

In this episode of The Secret Place, Derek shares the story of Peter on the boat, casting his nets on the other side. Through this, the bible reveals the true position of the human heart, that we don't deserve the goodness and grace of God and it would be easier for us to receive His wrath. But God is good, and His kindness is what leads us to repentance, not His judgement.

This is the second episode in a six part series titled "Jesus - Saviour and Example."

In this episode of The Secret Place, Derek works to better explain the timeline of creation through a human understanding. You were formed first in His mind, even before your mother's womb and before God said "let there be light" He had already decided to create himself in human form. Jesus, the Saviour of the world, was the plan before the heavens and the Earth were created.

In this episode of The Secret Place, Derek elaborates on the idea that God prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Our hearts are to be reconditioned and transformed by God's love, so that we may choose Him every time despite being in the presence of the enemy and worldly things. God is looking for people who are hardened from the spiritual battle, who choose God in the midst of the threat, so that there is no doubt when we no longer have an opportunity to choose. Being alive on earth is the last opportunity we have to worship God in the midst of the enemy, to choose Him every time and lay down our life for Him.
