The Secret Sauce to be an Incredible Leader
“If your company doesn't have the tools you need, then build them.”
Brandy Shaver
Brandy Shaver began her networking marketing career years ago and, at the time, ranked number 13 within her company. Then, life became a little rocky, and she decided to focus on running her salon instead of pursuing marketing further. Yet, seven years ago, Brandy re-entered the industry with a new perspective and strategy. Now, she successfully manages teams online and teaches the importance of systems and how to leverage them.
Every company is different, so it's not like a one size fits all system. First, to create a system for each recruit, start with understanding their end goal. Think about what their first steps are or need to be to move their business forward. Getting super specific is the key. You want to remember that recruits are new to the industry, and keeping things simple will allow you to address their questions more effectively and move them forward in their business faster.
“If you have to say something more than once, build a video.”
– Brandy Shaver
Videos help establish a firm foundational understanding of the system. Videos are also helpful for calls with each team member because it allows you to have a higher level of conversation. Instead of teaching each recruit one piece at a time, calls become more productive, and you're able to answer specific questions while meeting them where they're at as far as their education level.
Start with the basics! Create a video or a resource sheet to help your team be successful. Direct them toward the tools available to them. Otherwise, you will create an unmanageable monster business that you're going to hate.
It's essential to invest in your mentorship to become a successful leader. If there are skills you would like to grow or develop more, then seek out others who can teach you.
Having a mentor is the most important thing when you're building a business. They can see elements within your business that you may not be able to. For example, they can see the pothole down the road before you do and can help you avoid potential pitfalls. Mentors won't tell you what to do or how to run your business, but they will guide you, and they will ask you questions that will help your business progress.
“Keep learning! Don't sit and stay stagnant because things are more likely to fall apart at that point.” – Brandy Shaver
If your upline has what you're looking for, then follow it. However, if you're looking for a little more, seek out a mentor, and find what will work for you and how you can succeed within your company.
