Researchers are asserting that rather than extinction being our cause for concern, we really should be focused on the 'world in chains', a scenario in which a global government uses a novel technology to lock the world population into a prison of perpetual suffering. From AI to molecular nanotechnology, to engineered disease, these new technologies are as novel as COVID-19 and can be used to erect a prison planet in a short period of time; one dominated by AI. With early and intense snow in some parts of the US, and a raging so-called pandemic, it would seem that yet another exercise like Lockstep, this one called Dark Winter, has gone live. While hoards of zombified-ideological drones focus on the importance of physical identity, or green new deals, presidential candidate Joe Biden has essentially threatened a Dark Winter ("we're about to go into a dark winter") while Japan has decided to dump hundreds of tons of additional tritium-contaminated waste water from Fukushima into the ocean.
