The public and international announcement that nearly a thousand children, some as young as three, had been found in so-called mass graves throughout Canada at former Residential Schools, was met with little concern. For others, it was further confirmation of genocide carried out by the Canadian government and Catholic Church. The attempt to focus on these historical body dumping grounds may be shifting attention away from modern acts of genocide being committed in Canada and other parts of the world.
