The Secular Perspective

Two weeks since we last recorded an episode and Jeffrey Epstein is dead by suicide. We’ve had more mass shootings and Mitch McConnell refuses to do anything to help. Plus Shell employees were required to attend a Trump if they wanted to be paid for the day. Amanda also reviews Kathy Griffin's documentary about her harassment from the Trump administration for her photoshoot in 2017.

Warning: We have been drinking a little bit before recording this one, and it really shows by the end. Apologies if it’s really bad.

In this episode, we dive into the Jeffrey Epstein saga. Then we talk about Joshua Harris coming out as a “non-Christian” and some fallout from that. Then Chad does a quick review on a new game called “Church in the Darkness.”

This week Ivanka Trump was supper awkward trying to fit in with actual world leaders. We talk about E Jean Carroll and her accusations against Donald Trump and compare it to his own words. Then we dive into what happens to people when they have a near death experience. We also talk about a mentally disabled woman who is having an abortion forced upon her and our thoughts on that.

This episode rounds out a trilogy of episodes we did in a marathon recording session with Amanda monopolizing the mic most of the time. In this episode, we dive into a couple of topics that are not something we would normally talk about but seemed to really grab her attention. We talk about the life of paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren who recently died. We also talk about a fraternity that had had such a sordid history with sexual assault and all-around bad behavior that they eventually shut themselves down.

Amanda has decided to share a very personal story of the time she needed an abortion. Chad just tags along for the ride for most of this episode but decides to share the story of getting a vasectomy since it is the closest thing he has to compare.

Trigger warning: We probably share way too many details in our stories on this one. But it helps really paint the picture.

This past week Alabama and Georgia passed some pretty strict new laws in regard to abortion rights and we aren’t having it. I know we have talked about this a lot lately, but it is a pretty big deal to us.

We start the show with a couple of new stories in regards to Catholic child abuse scandals and then dive into the very recent news regarding abortion rights.
