The Secular Perspective

Friend of the show Tylean Polley returns with her husband Justin Tuijl to once again talk about her Atheist Christmas album and their new project of restoring an old church in the Scottish Highlands that was built in the 1840s. Please go donate a little to their Go Fund Me campaign to help them get a jump start on the repairs.

We discuss the chaos at the US Mexico border this past weekend when teargas was shot across the border from the US side. Then we dig into the missionary who was killed when he purposefully traveled to a forbidden island

This week we discuss CRISPR and some of the problems it is discovered to have. Two married women both carried the same baby in a new technique. Indonesia is on the verge of a measles epidemic if the Muslims there do not start getting vaccines. Finally, there is a new app for Hindu’s to purchase prayers through an app and we totally bastardize the concept.

Jeff Sessions has finally been fired/asked to resign which will probably get the ball rolling on some more craziness. In the midst of that, we are dealing with wrapping up the midterm elections, and a deadly wildfire and another shooting in California.

It’s been a month since we have recorded and Amanda wants to explain what has been going on while we were gone. This is a much more personal episode for both of us in which we talk about our families and mental health. I know it’s not our usual show but it’s something we felt we needed to do.

I do make mention of some videos I edited for a listener dealing with voting that I am linking below as well in case people would like to listen.

After a month long hiatus, we are back to have a quick discussion of the week that included the multiple pipe bombs sent in the mail, and the shootings that happened in Pittsburgh and Kentucky. We also give a shout out to our newest Patreon subscriber, Raj. Finally we have an in studio guest, Audrey the Dog. She was a good girl but got a little excited at times.

Chad breaks down the day of the testimony of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Then we shift gears and talk about sexy Halloween costumes and then wrap up with a few women that have been killed in Iraq under some strange circumstances.

The Catholic sexual scandals have made their way to Indianapolis. We also talk about how the Satanic Temple is cleaning up our local roads and the locals hate it. Finally, Amanda has more to add to past Catholic abuses.

Pat Robertson prays away a hurricane (or so he thinks). A Mormon woman calls out her rapist in church. A Christian school bans Nike attire because if the new Kapernick ad. A Judge ruled against a Christian group that wanted their flag flown at City Hall. A construction worker fired for not going to a Bible Study Group. And it is finally no longer illegal to be gay in India.

Trumps Parade got canceled. The Anti LGBT Baker from Colorado is back in the news for a Transgender cake this time. Planet Fitness was sued over a trans-gendered person in a locker room. Voting about medicinal marijuana is apparently a religious freedom issue now? Finally, the LDS church/the Mormons don’t want to be called either of those terms anymore.
