Fantastic discussion this week about the role ego plays in our industry; the good, the bad, and the ugly. We got real in the discussion of how an over-inflated ego can wreck somebody's day/week/month and dug in a little bit about the under-inflated ego. Even veterans with decades of experience struggle with these things from time to time.

What do you do when you're confronted with an egotist? What if you're the egotist? We unpacked a lot here, and hopefully you'll find some good nuggets of wisdom for yourself. Despite the title for this episode ("Ego? Fuck Your Ego!"), we kept it pretty much on the level. We also discuss the propensity for people to look for silver bullets and easy buttons. Maybe they do it because they're lazy, overworked, lack skill, or some combination of these things. Either way, stop looking for silver bullets and easy buttons, because most of them are bullshit.

The Security Shit Show crew started the show shootin' the shit, before we caught Chris putting on a hoodie (historic moment).

Topics tonight in the midst of all the great dialog:
- Lack of marketing accountability in our industry. Wild ass claims are made about product capabilities and nobody seems to care about accountability.
- Everyday people are taken advantage of and we must do better.
- Lots of great ideas from the crew and audience, including innovations in education, legislative changes, leveraging existing laws (maybe), bridging the education gap between generations, an information security score clearinghouse, etc.

Lot's of great banter and only a few (mostly appropriate) swear words.

If the first Security Shit Show was this good, what's coming is going to be effing AWESOME!
