In this episode, we get into what a User Experience career journey looks like and the options involved when designing your dream life using your tech skills with Niesha White.

Niesha is an Experience Designer and the founder of Birmingham Black Techies (BBT) and Black Tech Takeover. She is a former Front End Web Developer (current no code fan), and overall tech enthusiast. Shout out to Team No Code! 

She started out in tech as a Graphic Designer and switched to a CS major in college where she found her knack for designing and building websites. She later discovered UX (User Experience) Design and found her sweet spot. It's’ all about that Zone of Genius. That thing that makes you who you are and how you show up in the world!

Niesha founded Birmingham Black Techies in November 2019 while she was working as a Front End Dev. She founded BBT to create a space for Black techies to connect, talk about things that we find exciting in tech, and also share tips, advice, and resources for those trying to navigate and start their careers. 

Niesha is passionate about diversifying tech, introducing people to non-traditional career paths outside of coding careers. She loves simplifying complex processes and helping people find their niche and what they excel at. She’s also very passionate about curating amazing experiences both online and in person. Super excited to support Niesha on her flexprenuership journey! She is now the founder of a UX consulting firm named after and inspired by Meg Thee Stallion, so how can you not love that hotties! 

I’m really happy that we got to chat about what intentionally designing your life looks like and making your career work for you as opposed to just working at your job.
