A new episode drops every week with wise words to sit with. This is a safe space to pause, reflect, and be honest about what comes up for you.
For this week, reflect on these words:
Here’s a hard truth:
Your 30s will show you just how much love, safety, and regulation you never received.
And how badly you need to give it to yourself now. But no one tells you how heavy that work actually is...
You look around and realize you’re parenting yourself
While managing a job, while trying to love people, while healing from things you didn’t even know were trauma.
And still expected to “have it all together.”
You’re learning to:
Validate your own emotions, soothe your own nervous system, break patterns your family normalized
And show up for others without abandoning yourself
That’s not self-care. That’s reparenting.
You start to realize:
No one taught you emotional safety. No one modeled healthy boundaries.
“You’re allowed to feel this, and I’ll hold space for it.”So now?You have to learn it on your own.
And let’s be honest: it’s lonelyBecause you’re doing work your parents never did
You’re becoming someone they never modeledThat’s why you’re exhausted
The world will clap when you say you’re “healing.” But it won’t check on you when that healing looks like:
Crying alone at 2 am, saying no and sitting in the guilt, choosing peace over people-pleasing
Feeling lost without your old coping mechanismsBut here’s what I’ve learned:
Healing isn’t always beautiful. It’s often brutal.
Because you’re giving yourself the parenting you should’ve had but didn’t
You’re learning how to hold the child and lead the adult. Both live in you now.
So if you’re in your 30s and wondering why it all feels so heavy, it’s because you’re doing double the work.
Healing old wounds.
While building a life that feels safe for the first time. That’s sacred. But it’s not easy.
You’re not broken. You’re not behind. You’re just doing what no one ever did for you:
Making your inner world a safe place to land.
Never see that as a weakness.
That’s strength most people will never understand
Now sit with that for a minute.
What part of this hit you the hardest?
Respond and let me know if you’re feeling this too. And if you want more of these weekly reflections, let me know.
