Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when you are 14 will surely change your life! The years where many are spontaneous and care free Jay was given a diagnosis that now required constant monitoring this would cause many to cave but it lead Jay to begin a life long pursuit of studying and learning about health.
And it has been a journey of ups and downs from gut issues causing stabbing pains, monitoring his blood sugar all while trying to perform in the gym and in BJJ and in this episode we discuss every stage a long the way.
From how it felt to get his diagnosis, how he manages his blood sugar and what lead him to meat based diet.
The carnivore diet is a controversial topic in the industry today with many people either massively for or against it. It is because of this polarisation that Jay is a breath of fresh air and in this episode we discuss the pros and cons of the diet and where it fitted in for him and when it can (and cannot) fit into yours or your clients diet to.
But this is not just a diet episode as a man who like me runs education for a major gym train we discuss where we think the coaching education is today and what we feel it needs to get to the next level.
