The Integration Station

The SENSES Model

Listen Later

SENSES model has been developed through many years of applying the theory and practice of Ayres Sensory Integration, mental health supports and functional skill development in clinic with diverse populations. From children to adults, the SENSES model is exploring a client centred and strengths based approach to therapy, using an occupational lens.

We know that we are sensory beings, so the SENSES model uses this to guide others to understand how they can use their sensory systems to change how they are feeling and what they can do on a day-to-day basis.

This episode covers the ins and outs of the SENSES model, what it means, how it was developed and how it can be applied to diverse needs. From Sensory Integration to Support and Socialisaiton, the SENSES model aims to bring a Neuroaffirming model to Occupational Therapy Clinical Practice.
