For Episode 7 of “The Separation is in the Preparation” podcast I am joined by Ben Dobmeier. Ben joined me to talk about his experience working in Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare also known as Wilderness Therapy. Ben’s honesty and generosity when it came to sharing his own experience with mental health and how that inspired him to serve others was incredible to listen to. In addition to his own experiences, Ben shares a few amazing stories about breakthroughs he was able to make with students who were participating in the program he worked at. Omar is a goalkeeper coach based out of the Los Angeles area, and is also the founder of the wildly successful Progkacademy. With Progkacademy Omar creates content specifically for goalkeepers and their coaches on social media, and his channels have grown to have a humungous following (151k followers on IG and 86k subscribers on Youtube). Omar discusses his approach to the challenges of coaching, as well as how he creates content and manages his many social media platforms. For Episode 3 of the Separation is in the Preparation podcast I am joined by Amerra Sheckles. Amerra is a Howard University graduate, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Education from the Johns Hopkins School of Education in its Urban Teachers program. As part of that program Amerra teaches 4th grade humanities at a public charter school in Washington D.C's Ward 7. Over the course of the interview Amerra shares her pedagogy, the ways in which she is constantly seeking to improve her students educational experience, and a whole lot more. For episode 2 of The Separation is in the Preparation podcast I am joined by Dru Bogden. Dru is currently an assistant coach for the Taft College Men's Soccer program. Dru played collegiately at Taft College and then at UC Davis, where he graduated with a degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior in 2020. Dru is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Kinesiology on top of his college coaching. Dru gives us a detailed look at his preparation process, as well as sharing some powerful personal stories from his playing days that he felt helped prepare him to be an effective leader and coach. For this first episode of The Separation is in the Preparation Podcast I am joined by professional golfer Andrea Wong. Following a standout career at UC Davis, Andrea turned pro in 2016 playing first on the European Tour and then on the Symetra tour (the precursor to the LPGA). In the midst of her preparation for her fifth season as a professional, Andrea shared her story and provided a detailed glimpse into what it takes to perform at the highest levels of her sport.
