This week's episode of Eight One Sixty features members of The Sextet, a Kansas City groove jazz collective that just released a new album, "Among Friends," featuring Calvin Arsenia, Eddie Moore, Poet Jen Harris, Miki P and so many other guests. On the radio show we’ll play some songs from the massive double album and hear the stories behind the songs and hear about the recording process.

They’re celebrating the release of the new album this Sunday — The Sextet Album Release | Among Friends at recordBar. Nearly 20 artists will perform with the band through the evening, including J Ashley Miller and his project, Jametatone. We’ll play some music from him on the show as well.
