Today, I get to sit down with someone whose brain Iâve wanted to borrow for a long time. My guest is Victoria Hudson, the founder and clinical powerhouse behind Restorative Resilience Counseling. Sheâs one of those rare therapists who has lived on the front lines of justice work, spending nearly fifteen years advocating for survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking before bringing that fire and depth into clinical practice.
Victoria has built a therapeutic space thatâs honest, curious, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and radically welcoming. Whatâs especially exciting is that sheâs now intentionally expanding beyond a traditional private practice model, growing Restorative Resilience into a broader wellness community that treats the wellbeing of clinicians as just as essential as the care we provide to clients. Her vision is slow, thoughtful, and deeply strategic, investing in clinicians at every stage of their professional journey and celebrating the real, hard-won progress toward more accessible and humanizing care becoming the norm rather than the exception.
She works with people whoâve spent years being dismissed or misunderstood, whether thatâs because theyâre neurodivergent, chronically ill, recovering from abuse, or trying to reclaim their identity after a lifetime of being told who theyâre supposed to be. Sheâs the clinician people seek out when theyâre ready to challenge old narratives, explore consent and autonomy in real ways, and finally put themselves back at the center of their own life.
Victoria describes therapy as a âcreative exploration of possibilities,â which is exactly the kind of phrase that tells you sheâs both brilliant and grounded. Her work lives at the intersection of trauma, chronic illness, identity, sexuality, empowerment, and clinician sustainability, and she approaches all of it with a clarity and compassion that makes complicated things feel human again.
So today, weâre diving into all of it: consent as a lived experience, the overlaps between trauma and neurodivergence, why so many clients with dysautonomia end up running self-advocacy marathons, what empowerment actually looks like in daily practice, how clinicians survive systems that were never built for them, and how healing becomes possible when someone finally has permission to speak their truth.
This is going to be smart, tender, nerdy, a little rebellious, and genuinely transformative. This is The Sexy Nerd Podcast, and I am thrilled to welcome the incredible Victoria Hudson.â

In this week's episode, I had the privilege of speaking about motherhood, menopause, and sexuality with Dawn Moore. Dawn Moore is the founder of Mama Comes First, a pioneering sexual wellness platform for mothers of all stages, backgrounds, and identities. She is also a triple board-certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (specializing in Mental Health & Womenâs Health), Sex Educator, Midwife, and Mom of 4 (ages 5-18).
Through education, community, and bold advocacy, Dawn is on a mission to help mothers break free from the patriarchal capitalist norms that keep them exhausted, isolated, and âin lineâ. She believes that sexual liberation for mothers is an integral part of our worldâs collective liberation, because when empowered mothers come together, systems of oppression come apart.
When Dawn isnât revolutionizing motherhood, you might find her tending to her plants, redecorating her home and camper, or bopping away at a music festival. She also runs a small photography business, and used to be a circus and aerial artist. She loves sunrises and sunsets, salads that she doesnât have to make, cold brew, chocolate, and orgasms. Rainbow and sparkles are her favorite colors.
