Two games in. Two one-point wins. The New York Knicks are doing something nobody expected — and honey, I am here for every second of it.
Final score — Knicks 105, Spurs 104. New York takes a 2-0 series lead back home and San Antonio is sitting there wondering what just hit them.
The Spurs came out swinging in Game 2. Up 12 in the first quarter — 34 to 25 — and looking like they had figured something out. And then New York did what New York does. They outscored San Antonio 31 to 18 in the second quarter and never let them get comfortable again.
Wembanyama showed up this time. 29 points. 52% from the field. 4 blocks. He was aggressive, he was physical, and he was everything San Antonio needed him to be. And they still lost.
Because Mikal Bridges decided Game 2 was his night. 20 points on 61.5% shooting. Four threes. 6 assists with only 1 turnover. He was moving the ball, hitting shots, and making it look effortless. That quiet, efficient energy that makes you stop and pay attention whether you planned to or not.
Karl-Anthony Towns gave the Knicks another double double — 21 points and 13 rebounds. Shot 66.7% from the field. He was physical, he was present, and he was a problem San Antonio had no answer for all night.
Jalen Brunson shot 28% from the field and still finished with 20 points and 5 steals. That man finds a way. Every single time. He is not pretty about it. He is not clean about it. But he gets the job done and then he comes back for more.
De'Aaron Fox finally woke up for San Antonio — 20 points on 66.7% shooting after his rough Game 1. Dylan Harper added 15 more. The Spurs had enough firepower. They just couldn't hold the lead when it mattered.
New York's bench came through with 27 points. The Knicks are deep. They are relentless. And they are two wins away from something this city has not felt since 1973.
Game 3 heads to Madison Square Garden. The crowd will be electric. The pressure will be real. And San Antonio absolutely cannot afford to go down 3-0.
The question is — do the Knicks let them breathe?
