On today's episode of the Shame List Picture Show, we have two extraordinary returning guests — Eric Arsnow and, appearing for her 7th time, Josephine Maria Yanasak-Leszczynski. On this exceptional episode, we will discuss Andrzej Żuławski's transgressive masterwork of Polish cinema, POSSESSION. This film is heavy and harshly depicts a marriage that is falling apart, and how the two former lovers handle each other and their son. On top of that, it's also a crazy horror film. Often said to be Żuławski's commentary on his divorce from actress Małgorzata Braunek, POSSESSION has an aura around it because of the many stories that have come out about its difficult production. On this episode, we discuss the stories surrounding the production of POSSESSION and what stars Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani had to overcome; Polish culture; divorce/marriage; parenthood; tentacle monsters; and, of course, Żuławski's love for Poland.
