You can have the strategy, the clients, and the opportunities but do you have the energy and focus to sustain the business you're building?
In Episode 809 of The Sharvette Mitchell Radio Show, Sharvette sits down with Robin Muhammad, entrepreneur, nutritionist, speaker, and founder of Necessary Nutrition, Inc., for an important conversation about the connection between nutrition, energy, focus, stress, and business performance—especially for women over 40.
Robin explains why female entrepreneurs need to think differently about nutrition as they age, including paying closer attention to protein, vegetables, vitamin D, magnesium, healthy fats, hormonal changes, rest, and recovery. She also discusses why entrepreneurs shouldn't simply follow every supplement trend they see online. Critical Nutrition Secrets Fema…
If you're building a business while dealing with fatigue, brain fog, stress, hormonal changes, or simply feeling like you don't have the energy you once had, this episode deserves your attention.
In This Episode You'll Learn
1. Eat With Intention
What does my body need from this meal?
For entrepreneurs, that matters because nutrition isn't disconnected from business performance. What and how you eat can influence your energy and ability to concentrate throughout the workday. Critical Nutrition Secrets Fema…
2. Prioritize Protein
Protein was one of the biggest nutritional themes of this conversation.
Robin recommends building meals around protein sources such as fish, eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu, or a protein-rich smoothie. She discusses aiming for roughly 30–35 grams per meal and around 100 grams daily as a general starting point, while emphasizing that individual needs vary.
3. Pay Attention to Vitamin D
Robin explains that vitamin D deficiency can be associated with symptoms such as fatigue and changes in mood, and she highlights vitamin D as an area women—particularly women of color—may want to discuss with their healthcare providers and evaluate through appropriate testing.
Robin's practical starting point?
Begin your day with a protein-rich meal.
That might include eggs or a protein-rich smoothie, depending on your nutritional needs.
And when overwhelm hits, Robin offers another piece of advice:
Stop and do something that brings you joy—and makes you proud.

Talent can open the door—but what helps you stay in the room and continue growing?
In Episode 808 of The Sharvette Mitchell Radio Show, Sharvette sits down with Dr. Raylene Ross, licensed professional counselor, mental performance consultant, author, speaker, and founder of Living Your Truth Coaching & Consulting, LLC.
Drawing from more than 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics and her work supporting resilience and performance training for the United States Army, Dr. Ross introduces her A.C.E. Framework™: Alignment, Consistency, and Execution.

If you've ever struggled with too many ideas, inconsistent execution, overthinking, or maintaining momentum when business gets difficult, this conversation is for you.
--
The PAUSE Strategy for EntrepreneursWhen pressure rises, don't automatically react. PAUSE.
P — Pause before reacting.
A — Assess what's happening.
U — Understand what you need and what the situation requires.
S — Select the most effective response.
E — Execute the action.
This strategy creates space between the pressure you're experiencing and the decision you make.
As Dr. Ross explains, pressure doesn't have to make the decision for you.
Talent isn't enough. Talent may create opportunities, but sustainable excellence requires mental skills and repeatable standards.
Every opportunity isn't aligned. Learning to say no can be just as important to business growth as knowing when to say yes.
Consistency doesn't mean perfection. Sustainable consistency includes the ability to adjust, recover, and return.
Recovery is productive. Constantly pushing without creating space to reset can eventually undermine performance.

✅ What it really means to have a "regulated" nervous system
✅ Why nervous system regulation is a hidden business skill
✅ How anxiety and chronic stress affect entrepreneurs
Key Takeaways1. Your Nervous System Influences Your Business
Success isn't just about having the right strategy.
When your body is overwhelmed, your ability to think clearly, make decisions, and execute consistently becomes much more difficult.
2. Regulation Creates Better Leadership
Being a regulated entrepreneur means recognizing when you're stressed, anxious, or emotionally activated—and having the tools to return to a place of clarity before making important decisions.
3. Sometimes the Problem Isn't the Strategy
Many entrepreneurs already know what they need to do.
The challenge is that anxiety, perfectionism, overwhelm, or unresolved emotional experiences can make it difficult to actually implement those strategies.
Ashley recommends incorporating intentional moments of regulation throughout your day:
✔ Pause before reacting
✔ Take inventory of what your body is communicating
✔ Ask, "What story is playing in the background?"
✔ Journal—or record voice notes if writing isn't your style
