This week marks thirty years of marriage for me, and I'm using this episode to pull back the curtain on where I actually am right now: the anniversary, my youngest heading off to college, finishing my book draft, and everything the last nine months have taught me about staying anchored to a vision while life keeps moving.
The takeaway: you can be in the middle of massive change and still be building toward something, and both things can be true at once.

You've got the plan. The list is done. You know exactly what to do next, and somehow you're organizing your kitchen drawers instead. This one is about the avoidance that shows up right before your next season of expansion, and what it's actually trying to protect.
I'll walk through a two minute nervous system practice I use when I catch myself in it, plus the one question worth asking about where else in your life this pattern lives.

I used to think stepping back from something I loved meant letting people down. This episode is the story of the season I redirected my energy, the succession plan I didn't tell anyone about, and what I learned watching capable people wait for permission they never needed. It's a story about spotting your own season changes before you're forced to.

Patience gets treated like a waiting room, something you sit in until the important work starts again. I'm reframing it as a practice you build daily, with one action you can use this week to build it on purpose. Full show notes, transcript, and chapters at sheilabotelho.com/611

Years before this business had its current shape, I took a sales job and was handed a script. The first time I used it, I felt the wall it put between me and the person I was talking to. I realized pretty quickly that running someone else's version of the work was costing me the thing I was actually best at. What I built instead changed the direction of my entire career. This episode is about the decision I made against expectation, and what it ended up returning that I never planned for.

Earlier this year, I hit a season where my body and my spirit were tired at the same time, even though the plan in front of me hadn't changed. In this minisode, I walk through the loop that pulled me back in, at a level I thought I'd already moved past, and the one question that broke it. You'll leave with a way to act on the plan you've already made, instead of waiting until you feel fixed first.

Sheila sits down with leadership mentor and strategist Keri Kugler, host of The Aligned Woman Podcast, for a conversation on what ROI actually means once revenue stops being the only number that counts.
They talk through Sheila's framework, the Four Returns, and what happens when founders build without tracking all four.

You turn the dial, and for a few minutes, everything in the room looks the same. In this quick minisode, Sheila uses one ordinary kitchen moment to explain what's actually happening underneath that stillness, right after you commit to something.

You made the decision. Weeks later, nothing on the outside has changed, and it's easy to start wondering if it actually took. In this episode, Sheila walks through what's actually happening in that in-between stretch, and why patience might be the most underrated skill in your entire toolkit.

On the crunchy days, the ones that stack up and test your resolve, one practice keeps everything moving: the recommit. Drawing on timeless wisdom from one of my early author/speaker mentors, Jim Rohn, this minisode is a short, grounding reminder of where your conviction actually lives and how to find it again when you need it most.

You've built a business and hit the goals that looked impressive from the outside.
And somewhere in the middle of it, you started wondering what it would feel like to grow…
That's the room this show holds.
Every week, Sheila brings the kind of conversation you'd have with a strategist who's been inside the systems, the identity work, the decisions that don't have a clean framework yet. An exchange built from decades of sitting across from founders navigating exactly this stretch.
You'll hear business strategy, leadership, profit, identity, and the shifting landscape of entrepreneurship, covered the way it actually shows up: tangled together, not in neat categories.
Solo episodes. Minisodes. Conversations with founders and leaders building with depth instead of noise.
This is for the founder who's done the surface-level work and is ready for something with more weight to it.
Come on in. This is the place to expand, lead steadier, and trust yourself more fully every time you press play.
New episodes Tuesdays and Thursdays.
