Nancy Lyons is a keynote speaker, author, and writer. She also co-founded Clockwork and Tempo.

Erika Helvick Anderson is the MNSure Senior Director of Public Affairs. She joins to share details about the Insulin Safety Net Program you can take advantage of. Those with an urgent need for insulin can get a 30 day supply for $35.

Sheletta asks who is eligible for the program. Erika provides what’s needed to qualify including a current prescription. No rationing, whatever you need. You can only use this service once per year but they will set you up in a continuing need program to make sure you’re taken care of.

Fred Melo writes for the Pioneer Press and recently wrote a piece on what St. Paul should expect under the new mayoral elect, Kaohly Her. They chat a bit about Fred’s extended Christmas holiday with his family before shifting gears to Mayor Her taking charge.

Fred talks a bit about what the city of St. Paul is facing and what her agenda could be. He doesn’t know because she doesn’t… she needs to evaluate her position and the city from that vantage point. Sheletta asks if she will expand or reform Mayor Melvin Carter’s agenda, Fred thinks she will be more progressive.

Sheletta is thinking about downsizing her living space, she just doesn’t need as much space as she has. Her friend, Michael Roberts with Roberts Properties joins the show to discuss what the Twin Cities housing market could look like in 2026.

Michael calls the Twin Cities a “strategy market” rather than a buyers/sellers market. Date the rate and marry the home he says. Sheletta asks what happens to the market right after the holidays and what jumps out to him. Michael says that there’s a singularity to the Twin Cities market compared to those across the country.

She recently graduated from the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women Black in Business Cohort 8 program. She talks about the rigorous program she completed and Sheletta says she gave up during the application.

In their second segment, Coach Dawn gives her requirements for starting the new year off right. She details the necessity of rest, being in relation with yourself and saying no to protect your energy for yourself and your life.
