Nathan Janicek works with Hennepin County Voting Engagement and he joins Sheletta to give the voter turnout results for Minnesota. Nathan talks about the challenges getting to polls on “off years” but guess what… Minnesota and Minneapolis showed up.

Nathan shares some of those numbers and compares them to what we saw from other states. Sheletta asks about the surge in youth voting and what’s on the horizon in 2026.

Brian S Mills is a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial Advisor. Sheletta says her business is down 60% this year compared to last and she’s had to make some budget adjustments. She asks Brian about expenses and spending habits. Brian advises giving every dollar a purpose before it shows up. He also suggests saving for his gift budget from the start of the year and treating it like a bill.

Robin shares who her great uncle Gordon Parks was and his journey as a world renowned photographer and artist. He was the first Black photographer for Life Magazine and Vogue Magazine. Robin highlights his humanitarianism especially working with young people and the legacy he left behind.

Nausheena Hussain joins The Sheletta Show to discuss her new book called Prosperity with Purpose: A Muslim Woman's Guide to Abundance and Generosity. It focuses on emboldening a new generation of Muslim women to take control of their personal finances in alignment with the core principles of their faith.

Nausheena talks about where the book came from and the research she did into Islam and how women established early roots in philanthropic giving. Nausheena emphasizes how important it is to challenge the financial narratives so many women are fed from a young age.

Mebal Kaayni is just your local school bus driver that happens to be a hero. She recently rescued a lost little boy from drowning. Sheletta surprised Mabel earlier this week in gratitude for what she did.

Mabal shares what was going through her mind when she saw the child in distress and how she cared for him after his traumatic experience.
