SNL needs a Minnesota comedian that also hosts 12-3 on WCCO Radio - we talked to Scott Libin about this in the aftermath of an entertaining SNL Cold Open last Saturday night! Sheletta shares her idea of her own monologue and pieces she has brought together for it - also we talked to Scott about media in the changing world, especially with politics!

We began the show today talking to Senator Liz Boldon about what her and her team are doing to help those with medical debt get the help they need through the Debt Fairness Act! Also we talked to Jen Polzin of Tubman where her and her team are helping to provide a safe space for those who suffer from domestic abuse and she shares her story and the events they have coming up for those in need of a safe space!

Throughout October - it is Domestic Abuse Awareness month! So we wanted to check in with Jennifer Polzin, Chief Executive Officer for Tubman - providing a safe space for healing and helping those who are victims of domestic abuse. She shares her own personal experience when it comes to domestic abuse and we also dive into some of the events Tubman has coming up!

In partnership with Attorney General Keith Ellison, among others, Assistant Majority Leader Senator Liz Boldon has crafted what is known as the Debt Fairness Act where many can get the help they need with their health regardless of medical debt. She joined us today to share more on this and some of the heartbreaking stories of people being denied the help they need which lead to action being taken by Liz and her team! Also will this translate elsewhere outside of Minnesota!

Taking an idea and putting it to work is what Dan Whenesota did - he joins us to talk about his book project capturing the history of the Minnesota North Stars which he was able to piece each decade among four parts. Then Sheletta talks about the summer and fall mixture here in Minnesota!

Started the second hour of the Sheletta Show with Sheriff Eric Wallen previewing the upcoming Lyon County lock giveaway where many can join the fight against autism and keep these children and families safe. Also Sheletta shares a monumental moment in history that took place on the set of Twin Cities Almanac where Eric Eskola jumped aboard the Soul Train! Also Dr. Artika Tyner joined us to talk about a diverse and unifying community writing competition taking place!

We were so pleased to be joined by Dr. Artika Tyner to talk about the PPGJLI writing competition taking place where diverse writing pieces are shared among youth writers with not only a cash prize but also the opportunity to come together for the love of literacy!

Opportunities to make a difference in the autism community are everywhere and many come with a price - Sheletta talked to Sheriff Eric Wallen of Lyon County about the upcoming event on October 5th where more locks will be given away and more lives will be saved and changed for the better - so we previewed this event and Sheletta shared the collaborative mission against the dangers of autism!

Began this hour talking to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara about the teen shootings that took place early Saturday morning, also chatted with Brian McDaniel about the Second Congressional Seat in Minnesota and a possible Trump-Harris debate taking place once again. Finally we talked to Derek Francis about an incredible documentary being featured at the Twin Cities Film Festival - Minnesota Integration Story
