Let me tell you a story about how I was missing the point of this story about missing the point...

I'm sure you've asked this question: Does God care about me? How can I know? Today we're going to examine the evidence and come to a conclusion, but it may mean looking at your faith in a more real light than you've exposed it to before. Does God care, and if he does, who exactly are you to him?

We start with a short game of In the Bible, Not in the Bible as we enter into a discussion of the idea that God is in control. What does that mean? If it's true, why does life suck sometimes? Could the ancient stories we read in scripture lead us to any kind of understanding of our own lives?

Get up! It's time to take light into the darkness! You can't keep those covers clamped over your head any longer. Your fears are meaningless because you are traveling with the Creator of the Cosmos! What shadow won't flee from the rays of glory coming from the Son?

How can the joyous occasion of celebrating a birth be turned into a sword piercing your soul? That's what happens when you give birth the baby who would become Jesus of Nazareth, also known as Jesus the Christ.

He uses clips from Terminator 2, a Michael Jordan story, and the insightful comparison of Jesus to broccoli to bring it home. Hey, if that doesn't make you want to listen, flying monkeys probably wouldn't do the trick either.

Just so you know, I got a little creative in editing the movie clip from over two minutes (of near silence) to about six seconds. And you can't see the pictures, the first of which were traditional "Jesus, meek and mild," kind of photos, and the later ones which were clips of Jesus from the end of Passion of the Christ. You know the ones.
