Communicating climate change is very difficult and the only thing certain about it is its uncertainty. So what approach do we take in communicating to the masses, the problems, solutions and hope around climate change.

We have Chris Shaw to talk about climate communications. Chris works at climate outreach, formerly COIN, a European level organisation working on climate communications.

When we consider carbon emissions, we often look at it at the scale of nations. Even per capita emissions are discussed as compared across countries. What we miss out on are the range of emissions within countries and more importantly the carbon footprint of the richest people. On this podcast we speak with Dario Kenner who has been focusing his research on the 1% and their carbon emissions.

How are the Nordic countries spearheading the energy transition? What policies, governance and practices are in place? and what lessons can the rest of us learn from these small but significant countries?

The issue of climate justice is highly contentious. Sonja Klinsky is working on a novel approach to dealing with climate justice, borrowing from the lessons in dealing with apartheid in South Africa.

So what’s wrong with fracking? Can the UK solve its trilemma, of energy security, affordable energy and low carbon energy without a future for fracking? We have a special guest, Brenda Pollack from the Friends of the Earth to speak to us about this.

What is the future of natural gas in the U.K? Does it have a big, important role or is it a bridge fuel with a clear use-by date? Climate change demands that we have answers to some of these questions but do our politicians do?
