For the Mile Of Smiles event on Sunday 25th July, The Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast had the great honour of being able to set up a studio for the day. The goal was to sample and document the event with as many great interviews as they could get.

For part 1 of this episode AL and Leon speak to Eve from Kiddley Divey who use music to connect with children and adults. We discuss the importance of the language of music. Eve tells the guys about the work that they do at Kiddley Divey and the positive effects it has with adults with dementia for example.

Part 2 features Victoria Sugden who is the Charity Director of Friends Of The RJAH. Victoria talks to the guys about their special event "Festival On The Field" which is on the 7th August. The event marks the 100th anniversary of the hospital and 60 years of the League Of Friends.

AL and Leon's first interviews were with 2 of the artists that were performing on the day. Kiani Isme from Hope Radio joined the guys to talk about biscuits, radio and music. Kiani had so much positive energy, this interview really helped us to set the pace for the rest of the day.

Shortly after speaking to Kiani, the AL & Leon were joined by singer and poet Maurice Malcolm from Wolverhampton. Maurice talks about how his poetry is his life, it just happens. He has this beautiful belief that everyone is an artist, it's about finding out what you're good at and sharing it with the world. Maurice plays 2 live songs for us too!

We find out about the different roles that these ladies have and what goes into them. What challenges go into raising funds? What does the money raised go toward? And what does this all mean to the community that Lingen Davies works so hard to help?

These lovely ladies have a real passion for what they do and it really comes out in this very relaxed interview. On 29th September we will be pulling out all the stops to try our best to help Lingen Davies with Pod Aid and we really hope you will be there to help us. The work that Lingen Davies does is extremely important and they deserve every penny that we can raise between us.

AL spoke to Vince Dovey from Shropshire ITC last year during lockdown, it was a Zoom interview that was thwarted by technical issues. A new trend for us at the Biscuit is meeting people for the first time that have been on the show before. So why not make a habit of re-making new friends :)

AL met Vince at his office in Leaton to catch-up properly. Taking their time to discuss Vince's beginnings right up to now. The new company Ska-Train and new app Safe Step is looking to offer something brand new, exciting and necessary! Featuring an app that the world really needs, offering safety for the user and reassurance for parents and carers everywhere.

An idea that came from the mind of a concerned parent, looks like it could be the must have app for concerned parents, carers and for those who need that extra bit of extra safety while they walk home alone. Check out the podcast to find more.

Ewen is such a great guy, we talk about how he helps lower budget films and series, including Student projects, we dig into his past and how he has built his career into Comedy, and even a conversation about old skool nostalgia Social Medias!

Coming to you from the English Bridge Workshops, amidst a working stained glass studio, AL has carefully set up mics so he can speak to Nathalie Hildegarde Liege. Avid listeners may remember Nathalie from our coverage of the Historic Church Open a few weeks ago. A 15 minute interview was not enough to find out everything we needed to know about this fantastic artist.

Where does Nathalie begin? And where does her passion for stained glass come from? AL takes his time getting to know Nathalie's journey. Also how difficult is stained glass work? How easy is it to go wrong and what are the consequences if you do? Nathalie explains as much as she can, including telling AL about her proudest piece that she has made.
