The Shut Up, Devil Show with Kyle Winkler

Can’t get over rejection, no matter how hard you’ve tried? You might be healing only half of it. Kyle explains rejection’s two roots: one spiritual and one neurological. And why healing just one leaves the wound open. Drawing from scripture and brain research, he shares the one truth and one practice that helped him heal for real.

Finding it hard to forgive yourself for past mistakes, especially the ones you “should’ve known better” than to make? Kyle explains why self-forgiveness feels so hard for people who freely extend grace to everyone else. From Peter’s denial of Jesus to Paul’s past to a crooked step on his own staircase, you’ll learn how to give yourself the grace God already gives you. Plus, a simple declaration to say the next time you mess up. (Encore episode, originally released January 6, 2026.)

Still struggling with the same sins? Feel like you should be better by now? Longtime pastor, author, and radio Bible teacher Steve Brown joins Kyle to reveal what’s better than trying to be a better Christian. Discover why lies of guilt and shame drive our behavior, how sin can be a surprising gift, and why confession is our most powerful witness.

Struggling as a Christian? Feel like a failure no matter how hard you try? Many believers spend years fighting to become better Christians—more disciplined, less flawed, closer to perfect—only to end up exhausted, discouraged, and sure they’re falling short with God. Discover why that fight so often ends in defeat, and the real battle Jesus came to help us win.

Searches for “how to find purpose in life” have doubled in recent years. People continue to search with no real answers because they’re overlooking 3 places where purpose is really found. In this message, Kyle walks through biblical and historical examples, including insights from his own life, that help you stop chasing purpose and start recognizing it.

God still speaks. Yet most people mistake His voice for things that only add more guilt, fear, and condemnation. Kyle shares a simple test to tell God’s voice apart from the noise, opinions, and misapplied Scripture it gets confused with every day.

Does anxiety run in your family? Addiction? Sickness? Maybe you’ve wondered if you’re paying for something you didn’t even do. In this teaching, Kyle asks if generational curses are real, and traces the idea back to its root to find out. What he found will change how you see your family history, your struggles, and what you actually inherited.

You’ve been told to “love God more” through longer prayers, Bible reading, and service. Or you look at your struggles and think, “If I loved God more, I wouldn’t do this.” Kyle makes the case that disciplines don’t grow your love. And your struggles aren’t proof you need more. He traces where the pressure to perform love for God comes from, and a better way to think about it.

Your life runs on what you believe, not what you do. Change your thoughts consistently, and you rewire your brain, which changes how your body responds emotionally and physically. Kyle breaks down how this works, then hands you three Bible-backed thoughts that produce more confidence, courage, even better behavior.

Do you keep asking “Why do I keep making the same mistake?” no matter how many times you swear it’s the last? Or, if you’re a Christian, maybe it’s “Why do I keep sinning?” even after promising God (and yourself) it’s over? Kyle uncovers one lie that keeps sending you back to the start of the cycle.
