Waiting is an intrinsic part of our daily lives. We wait in line to pay for our groceries. We wait for transportation.  After writing exams, we wait for the results. We wait for wounds to heal.  We wait at stop signs.

In this teaching, we consider a different type of waiting: waiting on the Lord, and we’ll look at Biblical examples of people who waited, why we should wait and what we should do while we wait.

What is hope? Is it just an expectation with no basis?  And what is the purpose of hope? If we say our hope in Christ is a living hope with value, what then is this value? Find out in this teaching.

The book of Proverbs is unique within Scripture in that it is a collection of collections; that is, individual discourses and sayings were compiled into collections. In this study, we take a look at the lessons we can learn from ants, and seven (7) things God hates and what our response to those things should be.

The church in Smyrna existed at a time of great wealth but yet they lived in tribulation and in poverty. But they were promised the crown of life should they remain faithful until the end.

The Pergamum church was situated in a city where satan had his throne - a town rife with idolatry ad sexual immorality, and they compromised.

What can we learn from these churches today?

The Ephesian church was recognised by Jesus for their works and labours, but yet they had grown complacent. In this lesson, we learn where they missed it and the solution the word of God provides for the church and the individual.

In the event of a shipwreck, that floating piece of wood could become the most important item to your existence. So, when the ship breaks apart and the waves are pounding, that piece of wood becomes a lifeline. This is similar to the believer who suffers through the storms of life. Sometimes, our ‘ship’ of Faith gets wrecked, but there’s a piece of wood we hold on to. This is what I like to call the encounter. This is generally a profound work of God that we hold on to in our lives.

We come to the conclusion of our exploration of the book of James by considering some very important matters such as suffering and abundance, sickness, sin, confession, righteousness, and correcting the erring brethren.

In the third part of the teaching on the resurrection of the dead, we look at the characteristics of the resurrection and rapture of true believers.
