Brethren, contrary to what many of you are taught...the Bible does NOT teach God's people that when they get saved (i.e. born-again) they will be (if they believe it hard enough) be 'delivered' from their sinful struggles in the flesh! There is also nothing in the Scriptures teaches God's people that there is an 'easy way out' of having to dealing with their desire to sin. And there is most definitely not a teaching in the Scriptures which teaches God's people that the Lord will give them complete and utter 'victories' over their sin...IF they simply ask Him to do that! Part of our 'commission' (as Believers) is to choose to fight against (i.e. resist) our sinful flesh's desire to sin. Brethren, our Heavenly Father KNOWS that we are going to sin. He is NOT shocked or surprised when we sin. However, He still expects us to resist our sinful desires. And when we stumble or even wallow in sin (which any Believer is capable of doing)...our Heavenly Father commands that we 'deal' with our sin thru confess, repentance and the always powerful sin-cleansing power of Christ's blood!
Even at the end of a life full of spiritual victories and fleshly defeats...the Apostle Paul was able to say...I FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT....I RAN THE RACE ACCORDING TO GOD'S RULES....I FINISHED THE COURSE ...and I did all these in a manner which pleased the Lord!
