The journey is over. Gilly stands in the world of the dead. But there has been more to her journey than she knows. The new gods have done more than watch over her and they have plans for Gilly.

Gilly must brave the sea if she is to reach the Other Place and speak with her family again. It’s the last step in the journey, but here, at the edge of the world, all Gilly’s hopes are in danger of being wrecked.

Gilly has reached Prim’s village, but things are not as they should be. As the power of the new gods makes itself known, she faces a challenge more dangerous than any she has experienced on the journey.

Yarrow and Gilly face an impossible choice. One of them will emerge as a true leader, but the price is more than they can know. When they descend from the heights, they will be changed forever.
