Many Bible Prophecy teachers discuss a passage in Ezekiel 38 where there is a battle that was predicted some 2,650 years ago. The names of the countries are given their ancient names. We put the modern countries on the map where these ancient names were, and we find the main countries are Russia, Turkey, Iran, Libya, and Northern Sudan—the main ones that are going to be part of this invasion [of Israel]. I have always wondered why the bible says that no one will come to the aid of Israel and the countries of Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and the young lions will only put up a protest. They will question the actions but will not intervene, and in the end it is God who will intervene. In this age where we see nations with extreme military power and ability yet Ezekiel seems very clear that none of these nations will come to the aid of Israel, all they do is talk. Does this sound familiar? I am currently watching the United Nation Security Council hold a meeting, they are discussing the Russian aggression toward Ukraine. They are talking about how Russia and their President Vladimir Putin will regret their actions if they invade Ukraine. They are discussing sanctions against Russia, even though everyone knows President Putin has insulated himself and Russia from the effects of sanctions. He has built up a war chest of approximately $680 Billion dollars. And while the United Nations (United Nothing) talk and offer up platitudes of standing with Ukraine, President Putin has taken action. President Putin obviously feels empowered and emboldened and Russia is currently invading Ukraine. While all the nations of the world are offering up protests. Talking with surprise and lots of hot useless air. So all the while I am thinking: Is this a prelude to the battle predicted in Ezekiel 38 Is this current show of Russian aggression showing us why the Bible (Ezekiel 38:13) tells us that countries will only offer up protests to the predicted battle which will be led by Russia. Because our world is now under weak and feckless leadership and waiting to accept, or even embrace a strong leader who will want to stand up and take over the world. Ezekiel 38:10 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: 11 You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell [d]safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— 12 to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. 13 Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’
