HERE'S A BOOK I recommend: The title and cover of this book are a bit off the mark for me, but itās whatās inside that counts, right? I have read lots of books on mindfulness and meditation. I think this one is a good path to follow for a lot of people. Or at least a good place to start (again?). Iāve read other books and say, "Yeah, Iām not doing this. It feels weird.ā Or their method seems like too much to take on.
Emily Fletcher's technique was one of the first ones that worked for me. You donāt need much patience.
People who meditate arenāt magical. We all have endless thoughts in our heads. Itās a matter of finding the right way for yourself. And, you will never get rid of all of the thoughts, but youāll learn to focus your mind on calmer things for little bits at a time. Maybe a better title for this book would have been āMeditation for Mainstream Folksā, because itās a good fit for those who have ever said, āOh, I canāt meditate. My mind is always racing.ā
