On this episode of "The Smoke Pit", we had the pleasure of sitting down with retired Marine Sgt. Maj David Devaney, a 30 year career Scout Sniper. David is the author of "They Were Heroes", a memoir detailing the heroic stories of his men in combat, while calling attention to the fact that many heroes of these deadly conflicts have gone unrecognized.
David is an subject matter expert in Post Traumatic Stress and what he coins "Post Traumatic Growth". Over the course of the conversation, David challenges the traditional paradigm and gives a much more raw and practical analysis concerning PTS/PTG as well as some ways that we can look to use these experiences to enable our future success.
This is a MUST listen for anyone who deals with PTS from a personal experience or who deals with someone who faces the challenges of PTS. This is the perspective WE NEED to hear and unfortunately, we've been misled. Enjoy.
