It was an action packed weekend where surprising results common including a shocking defeat of SPFC by Cuiabá, Coritiba winning against Fluminense, and even tiny América MG grabbing an away point against Flamengo. In the Copa do Brasil Renato Augusto lead Corinthians to a win over SPFC & Flamengo beat a 10 man Grêmio.
