#182 – On today’s solo pod, Anthony & Bryan discuss the social media outage of 2021.

As many of you may have noticed, on October 4th social media giants Instagram, Facebook, and Whats App were all down worldwide for over 6 hours. 

The longest outage in history.

Facebook said late Monday that “the root cause of this outage was a faulty configuration change” and that there is “no evidence that user data was compromised as a result” of the outage.

The company apologized and said it is working to understand more about the cause, which began around 11:40 a.m. Eastern Monday.

This outage is yet another reminder of how dependent we've become on these social media platforms.
