I will be diving into our first sociology topic of the week being the sociology of the United States prison system and discussing the struggles and stigmatizations that people who have been incarcerated in the past go through everyday. My uncle Miguel will join me in a discussion segment, where he will share a bit about his experiences within the past 5 years after his transition from incarceration into the real world, and why the prison system today should be reformed with more rehabilitation and transition programs that can be beneficial for all prisoners, who just want a second chance in life and to be given great opportunities to stray away from going back into prison. With America having the biggest incarceration rate and recidivism rate worldwide, it is a common cycle that happens among many peoples lives, rather you have been through it our self, or a family member or someone you know is struggling with their transition from incarceration into the real world. I hope you enjoy this episode!
