The past is never quite as reliable as we imagine.

Aboard the UESS Solkas, a growing number of inconsistencies in historical records begin to suggest that something far more significant is taking place than anyone first suspected.

As Kasper and Sicily investigate conflicting data and reconstruct fragments of history, the search for Solomon takes an unexpected turn.

But finding a missing boy is only part of the problem.

The crew are beginning to realise that the technology they have developed carries responsibilities they never anticipated. The implications reach far beyond the ship itself, and mysterious entities, (The Sentaar) may hold the key to understanding what they have set in motion.

History is changing. The evidence is incomplete. And some questions are considerably more dangerous than others.

As the crew of the UESS Solkas struggle to understand the consequences of their latest mission, to restore the timeline, their search leads them to the heart of a mystery that reaches far beyond the nineteenth century.

The landing team ventures deeper into an unfamiliar environment. But the deeper they go, the more uncertain their mission becomes — and the consequences of what they uncover may reach far beyond their own time. 

Their greatest challenge may not be finding their way in. It may be understanding what they have disturbed.

The past has a way of fighting back. And some doors, once opened, cannot easily be closed.

Echoes of Armitage

The Solkas has returned to Earth.

Or at least, the crew think it has.

From orbit, the planet appears familiar. But as the ship’s sensors begin to examine the surface, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. The Earth they have returned to is not the Earth they left behind.

Across northern Europe, vast industrial structures have replaced the cities they knew. And at the centre of it all is a name from the past: Edwin Armitage.

Eleven years after the Bilberry flood, Armitage has transformed Holmfirth into the heart of an industrial empire — powered by technology no nineteenth-century engineer could possibly have created.

As the Solkas struggles to understand what has happened to history, an away team descends into the ruins of the altered Holmfirth. Beneath the remains of an old mill, they discover a hidden structure, a mysterious alloy column and a message that appears to have been waiting for them.

But Armitage’s story may not have begun with the fragment he found in the flood.

And the Solkas is about to discover that whatever happened to history, it may have been waiting for them to come back.

The valley is already struggling beneath the weight of winter when an impossible vessel appears above it.

The Solkas, a 22nd-century cargo ship equipped with experimental ChronoCoil technology, has travelled far beyond the limits of its intended mission. Now its crew find themselves witnessing a disaster that history remembers all too well: the catastrophic collapse of the Bilberry Reservoir.

As the flood tears through the valley, the crew face an impossible choice. Can they intervene without changing history — and if they do, who will they save?

The Weaver’s Flood is the first episode of Solkas Sagas, an immersive science-fiction audio drama where the future collides with the past, and history may not be quite as fixed as we thought.
